Just wondering, If I copied the Google Analytics code from a competitors site, and put a copy of it on a spam site, would it tank the site I copied it from?

What if it were copied onto 25+ spam sites?

Just a thought experiment

I don't think it would as Google knows where the original content is coming from (seniority) so you would just be wasting time.

If the domain has not been verified and linked to the Analytics account then it will not be considered
In addition, it will not affect the position in Google :p

Why don't you just focus on making your own site better than your competitor instead of trying to harm him?

anything you can think of in order to hurt your competitor, has probably been though of and addressed by google. dont waste your time.

also google DOES NOT use any data from google analytics for their search algorithm. google cannot force you to use their products in order to get ranked. If they did, every attorney general in US and European union would be after them.
