[Need Suggestion] I am thinking to build a Broken Link Building website

Hello,

I am in the SEO field more than a decade. I found the most popular and power link is contextual link. I noticed many website owner don't manage and monitor the broken links.

I found this as a loophole. I am thinking to build a website, where I will have a database (users can also add domain of their choice) of the websites and my website will scan the websites and check if their are any broken links.

The user can search by website name, keyword or category.

I would like to know if you get a similar type of website, would you like to subscribe it? Share your votes in poll.

I think most of the big juicy sites will be being crawled 24/7 by people looking for broken links to exploit, and have been for years. There have also been cheap tools to do this for you available for quite a while, eg. Screaming Frog or deadlinkchecker.com. You would need more of a USP to build up any sort of meaningful subscriber base I reckon - the ability for users to add their chosen domains is a start.

I would definitely try a tool like this if the data is reliable. Regular updates would make it much more useful. Filtering by niche or category would save a lot of time.
An export feature for outreach opportunities would also be a great addition. It sounds like a useful idea for SEO professionals.

the broken link angle is fine but honestly the hard part isnt finding broken links, its finding ones that actually point to pages worth rebuilding or grabbing. loads of broken links go to junk pages nobody would ever want the anchor for.

if you can layer in domain metrics on the broken target... like show DR/traffic of the dead page and who else was linking to it, that becomes way more useful than just a dead link list. thats where screaming frog and the free checkers fall short imo.

also crawling other peoples domains at scale gets expensive quick, and a lot of the big sites already have this picked clean like was said above. i'd niche it down first instead of trying to scan the whole web. pick a few categories, prove the data is clean, then expand.

would i pay for it? maybe, but only if the export + metrics part is solid. a plain checker no, theres too many free ones already.
