i want to ask that 12 years old website was getting alot of traffic now traffic decreasing slowly slowly

very old theme

is it better to change the theme and put some new theme will it effect the traffic

website have no onpage seo no of page seo done but recieving tons of traffic

so please tell me is it a good idea to change the theme or not ?

Changing the theme may not affect in any way.
My opinion: if the old theme looks ok, save it. It will be safer.
Does the theme have a mobile version? If the theme looks terrible and does not have a mobile version, then it is better to change it.
If the theme is too large and affects page load speed, then also change it to more optimized theme.

Just update old articles, add some text to old articles. Don't change the whole article, just add a couple of paragraphs to the articles that already exist.
Perhaps the site is losing traffic because Google believes that the articles are outdated.

If you are using WordPress does your theme have an update feature?

Update the theme and would like to know that you are using a mobile-friendly theme.
There is some other reason for losing traffic
1. Outdated content.
2. Not much informative
3. Improper SEO(To reach a top position to get more visitors)

You can also increase the ranking by getting backlinks from authority and high traffic websites.

Upgrade your content.

I'll advise you to use another theme mate, and also google changing its algorithm on a continuous basis. It is very important to do On-Page as well as Off-page SEO. Your some traffic might affect for some time but this will help you in the future,
