Obviously by my post count, I am a complete noob to the world of Blackhat SEO. Is there any definitive way to start up my own projects short of simply lurking these forums and learning as much as I can? From the short time I've spent browsing thus far, I came to this conclusion:
    1) Find a good keyword and create a website about that keyword.
    2) Once traffic is high enough, put on adsense or flip the site for profit.

What about the steps in between? What are backlinking, Xrumer, VPS, and all the other terms that are alien to me? Is using sites like adsense or selling high traffic sites the only way to make money in this field?

tl;dr: please help a noobie out; a step by step for getting started would be extremely helpful. I didn't see anywhere else to ask for help or a general FAQ, so I apologize if this thread is in the wrong place.

    Thanks :)

i cant exactly give you a step by step but in the members downloads there are plenty of ebooks that you can learn from also check peoples journal/case study threads as they will describe their methods somewhat.
Also there is a lot more to this forum than just website building (social marketing, video, product creation, CPA, Mass Mailing etc.). SEO can be applied to almost every type of internet venture.

also dont expect anyone to spoon feed you cause most members hate that (i learned the hard way)
    good luck

Here's a better question: what should I start with (blog, buy my own domain, etc)? What would be easiest to start with to learn everything and get a few dollars per day rolling in?

Ahh sorry, forgot to respond to you. I don't have skype, but I'd be willing to make one if you don't have any other means of communication?

Start with what everyone is saying and get some ebooks and READ. No one is going to spoon feed you the answer and it won't help you in the future since you'll just keep asking. By reading you'll understand how internet marketing works, what tools are the best to do certain tasks and how to solve your problems or know what to ask to get it solved.

Buying a domain, blog, etc isn't going to help if you don't know what to do with it. if this shit was easy everyone would be doing it.

it took me years to earn $50 a day consitantly. its about hard work and trial and error..

look you will waste 3/4 of your time if search for a step by step method that works because they really dont exist..

its TRIAL & ERROR + some knowledge + creativity + long hard hours = some money.

    2 years later = $50 a day

then when you found a method. PERFECT IT and SCALE IT UP use your own brain to make your own method. thats the best thing you can do..

and never stop learning.... never stop thinking.... never stop experimenting...

do that and you will be successful

I have been studying im for over 4 years. But I just recently found BHW. As with everything else in life--when we go to achieve something FOCUS is the key.

There are hundreds if not thousands of different ways to make money online. But I will tell you this--every person who has become successful puts their focus into ONE THING and hits it hard and doesn't stop changing, learning, asking questions, learning, doing it again, asking more questions--until you reach a point that you're making money.

Pick one project to start with and build it within one site that gets massive traffic. Then expand from there.

People will help you here, if you will help yourself.

The more I post, the more I read, the more people are willing to help, but I have very pointed particular questions about detailed specifics of 1 project.

Learn from the mistakes of others--don't jump around--pick one method of monetization and go.

I still keep learning about a lot of different things at the same time, but that's because I love to learn. I have my project picked out to monetize and I will not quit on it until I have made it a success!!

Good luck :) don't give up!

Definitely check out some of the e-books offered in the download section. These will provide you a good base to work off of. After that, spend an hour a day reading the forums for new ideas and such. It's important to get something and try it - otherwise it's very easy to get overloaded.

You'll have to deal with a lot of trial an error.

As mentioned above, just look around for the answers to your questions. BlackHatWorld is a great place to learn about SEO and marketing so you're in the right place.

Be sure to read A LOT of information and apply it to your site. Make sure you know what to do and what not to do before you step out in the world of SEO/IM :)

There are plenty of people out there that have written ebooks that say what have worked for them. But why do you think they are now selling an ebook about their strategy? It's because their method is now saturated and doesn't work as well as it use to and they can now make more money by selling their ebook lol.

Look for ebooks that teach you about SEO, Internet Marketing, Backlinking, etc. Don't look into the ebooks that talk about making money online just yet. Later on you can purchase those ebooks and by picking them apart you can pull out certain methods you like and apply them to your now growing business venture :)

2 things I want to leave you with that you should remember...

1.) No 1 ebook will give you the key to riches. You can buy 50 ebooks and still be missing the main piece of the puzzle to making money online. Just learn as much as you can and use your brain to apply the information.

2.) Making money online isn't as easy as TV says it is. But if you work at it and build correctly then you can do it. And the good thing about online... You can screw up on a site and just start over with a new one if you want :)

Hope this helps a little :)

I think I've read enough from here and other sites to know the very basics, and I'm almost ready to begin a project. I just need a couple more basic questions answered that I can't find anywhere else. I wish you would skype with me, sinatra!

-do I need to know html to make my own websites, or do domains come with preloaded themes etc. when you purchase them?
-can you have more than one site connected to an Adsense account?
-how should I employ use of proxies?
-how do I find high paying keywords?
-Adsense can't be placed onto a site until it's 6 months old, correct? Are there any exceptions besides blogger?

no others that I can think of right now, but I'm really excited at the prospect of setting up my own site.

ihatyuosmae, you never added me on skype.

-do I need to know html to make my own websites, or do domains come with preloaded themes etc. when you purchase them?

    No.

-can you have more than one site connected to an Adsense account?

    Yes.

-how should I employ use of proxies?

You don't need proxies unless you're using scrapebox or other programs.

-how do I find high paying keywords?

Keyword research, get lucky, or buy some keywords from the BST section.

-Adsense can't be placed onto a site until it's 6 months old, correct? Are there any exceptions besides blogger?

I believe this is when you're submitting a site for approval. If you already have an account, no need to wait 6 months.
