    Hello everyone,

I will soon build myself a new gaming "machine".
But my hardware knowledge is a bit outdated.
I will build the tower myself and I will use a modded liquid cooling system that would be able to freeze my food if I would wanted to :p

    So my question is...
What is the best possible "normal" hardware configuration you can get for your money this days. I know what I am doing and I already built several rigs myself.

    Thanks in advance,

    Black.Star

 LOL. I built mine for $700 about 5 months ago and it can run BF3 on maxed settings while recording with fraps at 30 fps... lol.

average gaming pc is 1500 $ if you buy some shit ready to start system...
btw 1500 $? Thats totally bullshit...

Well what does my thread look like?
I never said how much money I want to spend... reason? We are on BHW here and I am not limited with my money and I am in the mood to buy myself the best configuration available.

PS: I don´t want to have a ready to run system...
I know what I am doing and I have years of casemodding/PCmodding/overclocking experience. I just have no idea what is the best hardware you can have in a "normal" PC at the moment...

Okay here is what I want to do... Run up2date games on ultra graphics without any fps problems, while rendering HD videos, while using 3 screens, while streaming gameplay or frapsing.

If you really need a budget: 5000 $ but I am able to pay more if needed (10.000 $ is also fine)

Edit: While running different kinds of other memory heavy programms etc. :)

I've built many, many computers. I'm not sure where you are, but be aware that thailand (one of the major harddrive manufacturers) recently flooded so HDD prices have gone up.

Can you give us a country to base you off?

    I suggest i7 2600k - $300
    http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16813131390 that mobo for $400
dual 590 GTX SLI($1500 total) in SLI

    get yourself 2 60GB SSD's(about $200 total) and run them in Raid 0... then get 2 2 TB's..($100+)

    get like a 1000 W modular power supply($150)

    get a nice case.

    get blu-ray player and burner.

Good advice. How do the 590GTX's in SLI compare to the 6990's? I also recommend getting mroe than 60GB for SSD's, especially if he wants to run a heap of VMs (that's what I do for development) and a few games. :D

Is there already a way to upgrade to quad GTX 590? :D
Anyways seems very nice. But I am not happy with the processor yet...
Wasn´t there some i7 blackedition without overclocking limitations?
Think I will go for 32 GB DDR3 ram and will also add a ASUS Xonar D2X (soundcard) to the setup + Killer 2100 networkcard.

I also still have a 1250 power supply from one of my old PC´s flying around in my room.

Awesome I really look forward to start working on that beast.
Just need to come up with a nice case idea...

Anyone has a crazy idea for a case? :D

Ahh dude start working on your essay instead of helping other people on BHW lounge threads xD

    6990 or 590´s... thats the question :p

    (I think I will go for 2 256 GB ssd´s)

I'm pretty sure the 2600k is the best consumer CPU on the market as of now.. as for case.. check this out.

oh and invest in a nice liquid cooling system($400)

p.s. and yes you can go quad sli but that's so unnecessary i can't even begin... plus thats $3k so yeah..

Haha nah just kidding about the quad sli...
I know thats a waste of money.

And yeah about the liquid cooling system... I already have one as I mentioned above... That beast is able to cool down my room!
Added some additional "features" to the basic cooling system :p
