Any gamers here?

I'm looking for games that I can run in the background while working on my stuff.

Something that basically doesn't require your constant attention to play.

I usually work in small bursts of 20m or so, then take a quick 6m break. During that downtime it'd be awesome to have a game to play or something just to 'lax the mind. Or feel like you're making progress.

Probably thinking RPG, strategy, TBS, or adventure? I dunno- I used to play a lot of games and have lost touch with the newer stuff.

Free preferred, but I don't mind shelling out $20 or so.

Any suggestions?:)

check twitch there a lots of streamers playing trending games

I used to play Mafia War by Zynga ... sometimes I put Mutants Galactic Gladiators on ... both games available through Facebook so might be destracting xD

Also, Hentai Heroes ... :anyway:

Damn, I thought you were meaning drinking games or something like that.

Witcher 3
Fallout 4
Metro Exodus
The Long Dark
Man of Medan

Get yourself a Nintendo Switch and an online membership; you'll get two brilliant SNES games.

Speaking of which, when are you coming to O-town so we can have one?

You realise I'm in Spain....

Will probably be 2020 Fall / Spring 2021.

Travel for the next 4-5 months; UK- 4 times, Switzerland twice, Dubai, Oman, Mumbai, Goa.

Not sure about mobile, but here's a desktop recommendation list. For casual and in-the-background I absolutely recommend hearthstone and path of exile out of the popular titles. If you're into medieval strategy you can try euIV, CK2, total war series. You can play a battle or a couple of years of diplomacy over 20 minutes, pause and go back to work. Pick the game up whenever. I've been playing a total war campaign for a week in 1 hour bursts when taking a break.
Also darkest dungeon and slay the spire. Any rogue-like really.

For the casual and mobile friendly stuff: Puzzle games like entanglement, it has relaxing oriental sounds when taking moves, absolutely my favorite casual game right now. There's also the old but gold: chess and its many variants, as well as generally any board game: checkers, draughts, reversi, go, shogi, xiangqi, hnefatafl, backgammon.. sudoku, card games.

Many of those sound like long games that require concentration, but there are many timed variants with each player having like 5-10 minutes to make all his moves, notably in chess and its variants.

I haven't played games for more than an hour here and there lately but that's what I used to enjoy. Think that covers the whole spectrum of what you like!

What I don't recommend: competitive moba titles. I've wasted my teenage years trying to get a high rank in league. fuck that.
Auto-chess though, maybe that's worth giving a shot actually!

Guess I'm going to Spain. I could use a vacation anyways.

Mushrooms Wars 2 is quite fun

You can try widelands. It's like age of empires but the goal is less battle, more building. So for hours on end you don't need to check what's going on. It's also available on Mac, PC and Linux.

My solution to gaming however is my PS Vita. You want to something you can dive in and out of quickly that doesn't hog resources. Handheld is bae.

So no one is gonna recommend the greatest game of all time (not me, check the stats) MINECRAFT?

Transport tycoon, there is an open source version with active servers
