NEED SEO HELP URGENTLY (NOOB)

Hey i have been browsing the site for a week, reading about SEO and i decided to start an agency.

i have good business skills and so was able to draw up a few proposals for clients forecasting ROI with % charge until first page ranking is reached.

BUT NOW I HAVE A MAJOR PROBLEM.

I closed my first client for a decent fee, but the website is built on php and i have logged into cpanel and have no idea wtf I am doing...

how do I add content, change urls, edit meta tags etc and just do seo

I know of what needs to be done, just actually accessing the html and doing it has me stumped.

point me in the right direction and i will put in the work and learn

Time to hit the YouTube video tutorials hard... And go to the freelance websites and get some affordable offshore help to bridge the gap until you do know what you are doing.

It's easy to do this, snap up an order and then try to figure out how to do things.
Instead of you fucking up some persons site ( livelyhood) you need to speak to someone who does know what they're doing, and split the profits with them.

i plan to become a member of this community and i plan to make some fucking money.

I have time on my side so i will be taking all contructive advise and running with it, i will resort to outsourcing but i'm going to try learn myself first. Going to have to learn at some point why not now.

I welcome the disses because i hate the pussies on here. hit me till i bleed so i can crawl into my hyperbolic chamber and evolve... heading over to yt now.

You need to outsource or partner up with someone for this clients site.

In the mean time throw up 2 or 3 MNS for yourself and practice your seo on those, that way you are not risking screwing someones website up that might be his source of income.

Refer to youtube for specific tutorials and get any specific issues dealt with on forums. Plus in future, just ask for help without necessarily revealing all your background info.

Do not worry the client has multiple sources of income and site is not earning yet (i am looking to change that over the coming months).

Things are looking up, after speaking with the developer and he is happy for me to tell him what i need done and execute.

you guys opinions are valued and i have actually turned down a client i felt i could not help after anaysing the situation.

i do realise it is kinda bllack hat to get clients like this, but i was very conservative in my forecasts in terms of lead gen and traffic and the client was happy.

i know if i hustle my ass off I can get results and eventually close more clients.

I think I have done quite well as a new agency going from 0 to 1000 monthly retainer in 1 week.

Now it's time to learn and work.

I need to become an expert so any resources posted are appreciated.
 
if the fee is decent then find a good supplier of seo and hire a programmer to take care of the websites, then scale the hell out of it. you will make much more money because of the fact that the skill of closing business is much more scarce than the skill of SEO. get advantage now
 
Well it looks like you have a proper attitude. Simply use ftp to access files (cpanel is just a management tool, to access and edit files you should use ftp software). Look into tutorials showing how to create new ftp account per domain on cpanel. 5 minutes of learning...

It's a rather bold statement to accept a contract without actually knowing the task at hand...

Nevertheless, I wouldn't advise you to go anywhere near PHP if you don't know what you're doing. Simply because you could be dealing with four or more programming languages - PHP, Javascript, HTML and CSS. They are not the nicest of languages to learn either.

If programming is not your strong point, you should be able to at least understand raw HTML, which will allow you to identify what parts of the site need tweaking for your client. For example, when it comes to content, that should be an easy job for an experienced PHP developer to change. Likewise ALT tags for images, adding hyperlinks to other internal pages, all relatively easy stuff.
