    Hey all,

I have a client - "Company A" - where when you type in their brand name into Google, there is a negative news link and a forum link that appears on the first page.

Basically the links say "Don't sign up with Company A" and "Disappointment surrounding Company A's policies".

I'm trying to push those links down to the second page. I've done some GSA to their Facebook/LinkedIn/Workopolis/Glassdoor links that appear lower in the SERPs, bought some link packages for them and only had some slight movement.

Doing negative SEO toward the forum and news sites is not an option. What is the viable next step?

Kind of new at this. Any input is appreciated. Thanks!!

    1. Send spam links as you can to link 1 targeting the brand name keyword .
    2. give it one month , and open adwords campaign for that link targeting the brand name keyword also , the campaign will be reviewed manually ... there's high probability the link will get slapped ......
    3. if this works repeat the whole story for link 2 ...

i did that before and worked ...

Hey, what does step 1 mean?
Say the keyword is "Style By Douglas"

Does that mean to create spam sites with the URL stylebydoug / dougstyles and send spam traffic to those sites?

Just a little clarification, I'm a bit new to ORM

Hi, I was reading the discussion because I am also having similar case. So you guys are talking about Tier 2 link building?

We have to build spam links on our existing good link or on our negative review URLs?

Most people think (myself included) that negative SEO doesn't do much harm but his spin is trying to get the page manually looked at. Then Google would see the spam links and penalize the page.

    Hi @BHopkins
Can our spam link help us to down the negative results as News website domain authority is above 90?

Not in my experience. I've tested negative SEO and haven't seen it successful on a regular basis. I've never seen it successful on a large site owned by a large company.

Well guys I want to share my progress. @BHopkins

As I told my friend (Client) is having some negative articles on some news websites. There are two websites which are highly in DA 90.

I created 5 websites and optimised them with his Name as a keyword and added the fresh content about him in those websites. Then have some backlinks manually + robots and now I have my all 5 websites on page one. Even my client's original business website is on No.1 but the 2nd result is still of that news website which contains negative views.

I have pushed down the other one on page 2 but this is still on Page 1 and on No. 2.

Can anyone share me some useful tips with their experience?

    Thanks

That's great @Link Player ! You'll likely need either stronger domains, or to make your domains stronger through link building. The news articles likely have a very high CTR as they are negative and people love clicking negative titles.
