Need help - Yoast category titles won't work

I recently started using Yoast for the first time and I really like it.
The only problem is that when I set custom titles for my categories, they are ignored and the page title is simply the category name. I have searched the web and can't find an answer.

I have tried editing these individually as well as through the universal category title control option.

I'm not sure what the problem is. It could be a plugin, but Im not sure which one...

Anyone experiencing this or have a solution?
