Need help with HostGator

I agree with @redarrow

HostGator have the worst customer service of any web host I have ever used and their sloppy practices could potentially shut a business down overnight - they are not a suitable host for any important project

Thank god you made this thread today, because I just had the EXACT same problem.

Gonna try the flush and see if it works
Thanks

Create free Cloudflare account add your website and replace the DNS of your domain with the one that you will get from CF.

Thanks for the help, but it's just one more thing that i have to sign up for. It's gonna be an even bigger hassle

did you register a domain with hostgator and purchase the hosting too?

Update:

I've gotten to log onto wordpress with my registered domain. Thing is I can't view the website in real time. But as I suspect, that's because of the DNS propagation

It will resolve eventually, true, but propogation shouldn't be an issue these days for most of the common domain extensions - a lot of the newer naff extensions still take some time because these registries servers will be configured using the old recommendations to reduce server load. The top extensions refresh as fast as every 3 mins these days, so by the time you've registered and waiting for your emails and details, the domain dns is already updated and live.

I have 5 domains on hostgator servers which I did on a special last year, but they are all dot coms, I had demo sites up on them within minutes and i'm about 5000 miles away from where they are hosted.

There's other factors that can affect your ability to see it live though, like your isp being slow to update their dns cache.

I don't think it's wise to buy hosting and reg domain at the same provider.
Don't keep all your eggs in one basket.
