Need help setting Aggregator/Curator website...

I've been monitoring these two sites: Alltop and PopURLs so i'm planning to make my own twist...

Question is... How do they monetize using Adsense without unique content?

Another question, how does Google treat aggregators/curators? Is it worth?

Anyone with experience in that area?
