Need help regarding XML sitemap

Hello Mates..
i am running a Multi niche Website (howpk[dot]com). I am using Google XML plugin (wordpress[dot]org/plugins/google-xml-sitemap/) it is working fine but today i have notices in GWT (google Console) that total page submitted are 670 and indexed are 340. i don't know why it shows me such.. before this it show me 670 are submitted and 630 are indexed.
one more thing yesterday i have updated my WP cms to latest version... one more thing i didn't get any update from this plugin from last 2 years...
can anyone please help me...what i need to do.... i am using yoast seo plugin....please suggest me something...

YoastSEO has a built-in XML Sitemap function. If you need to, resubmitting the XML sitemap to Google Webmaster Tools should help.

Yes as the user above said use the inbuilt one from Yoast. Check the settings in the Yoast SEO plugin and it will give you the new url for the site map to be submitted to your G Webmaster Portal.

First thanks for quick reply...
i have stopped that old plugin and active yoast sitemap... but on the main sitemap address it is showing 4 more parent sitemaps..... will i need to submit each parent sitemap separately... or just the main sitemap URL (Which contain parent sitemap links)?

Just the main one. Google will add them all but there is no harm in adding them yourself. I have also used the crawl button on the left side and added the new sitemap url for Google to crawl for faster indexing.

You just need to submit the main sitemap, sitemap_index.xml. Google will then process all the inner XML files
