Hi everyone,

I recently built a WordPress website using GeneratePress and it's hosted on a LiteSpeed server.

In my effort to get a perfect 100 score on PageSpeed (pagespeed.web.dev) and improve user experience, I installed multiple optimization plugins including:
  • LiteSpeed Cache
  • Perfmatters
  • Smush
After some tweaking, I successfully hit a 100 score
However, I later noticed this had negatively affected my site's SEO and even caused issues with how Google renders the page (found weird stuff in the view-source output).

So I disabled all the plugins and tried to make some simple fixes, like changing image titles through the media gallery, but those changes didn’t reflect on the live site. Also, I had no backup..

Now, after disabling the plugins, the PageSpeed score dropped to 74, which is still okay because GeneratePress is lightweight by default. But I'm looking to do things properly this time.

What I’m looking for:

  • Someone experienced with GeneratePress, WordPress OFF PAGE SEO, and the mentioned optimization plugins
  • Help to properly optimize my site and make it better
  • Fix any plugin conflicts or configuration errors
  • Guidance at an affordable cost

Note: The site is in Arabic, but I can assist with translation if needed.

Please send me your website URL via PM, and I will provide you with a audit report on its speed/performance.

I’ve worked with GeneratePress + LiteSpeed setups before, and I know how tricky it can get when multiple optimization plugins start stepping on each other.

I'd love to help you out with your site optimization with over 7+ years of experience in WordPress development, SEO, and performance tuning (especially with GeneratePress, LiteSpeed Cache, and Perfmatters), I’ve helped many site owners hit that perfect balance between speed, stability, and SEO.

Here’s what I can assist you with:

⭐ Proper configuration of LiteSpeed Cache, Perfmatters & Smush without conflicts

⭐ Optimization that improves speed without breaking SEO or rendering

⭐ Clean-up of leftover plugin settings or bad code affecting Google rendering

⭐ Advice on off-page SEO strategy & how to align technical fixes with ranking goals

⭐ Fixing image metadata, schema issues, and caching behavior

⭐ Ongoing support to avoid issues like this in the future

Since your site is already well-built on GeneratePress, we can fine-tune it efficiently without overloading it with unnecessary plugins. I focus on results, not just scores.

Let me know your budget and timeline happy to work with you at an affordable rate and get your site back to peak performance.

Hey w4ed,

Sounds like you're on the right track using GeneratePress and LiteSpeed — solid stack for performance. I've worked extensively with GP + LiteSpeed + Perfmatters, and I also handle off-page SEO alongside technical and on-page cleanup.

What I can help with:
  • Proper PageSpeed optimization without hurting crawlability/rendering
  • Diagnosing & fixing conflicts between plugins (LiteSpeed, Smush, Perfmatters, etc.)
  • Off-page SEO strategy tailored for Arabic content (link-building, citations, content signals)
  • Setting up structured data & improving indexing
  • Post-optimization testing and speed audits

I’ve optimized multilingual sites before, so Arabic is no issue happy to coordinate with you on the content side.

Affordable and milestone-based pricing no fluff, just results.

Feel free to PM your URL and current issues. Let’s get this running smoothly and SEO-friendly.

Cheers,

Thanks for sharing your URL. In that case, I won’t create an audit but will instead address your points in this thread, as I’ve noticed the same issues come up repeatedly in the forum and my response below could potentially help many others as well.

I can totally relate to what you’ve been through.. this is such a common experience with WordPress optimization that I see regularly.

The main issue you hit is using optimization plugins without really understanding how each setting affects your specific setup. Every website is different based on theme, plugins, hosting, and content, so those “one-click optimization” approaches rarely work well. What works for one website might break another.

About chasing that 100 PageSpeed score: While PageSpeed gives useful insights, it’s become a bit misleading for real optimization. The testing happens on heavily throttled networks (slow 3G) and limited CPU that don’t match how most people browse today.

What you experienced with LiteSpeed Cache is exactly the problem - many plugins use “tricks” to score well on PageSpeed by serving different content to the test versus real visitors. They might load partial content initially or delay things until user interaction, getting that perfect score while actual users see incomplete pages or unstyled content. Pretty frustrating when you realize what’s happening.

Real speed optimization is more about intelligently organizing your site’s resources. You want to identify what’s critical for that first paint (FCP) and what can be deferred, always keeping the user experience intact. It’s less about the score and more about actual performance (Core Web Vitals).

GeneratePress is definitely lightweight, but remember that doesn’t automatically mean your whole site will be. Plugin choices and configuration matter just as much. A lightweight theme with heavy plugins can still be slow.

Those issues with changes not showing up after disabling plugins? That sounds like caching configuration problems or just not knowing when/how to purge cache properly. Caching can be tricky if you’re not familiar with the different layers.

Looking at your website, there are several optimization opportunities:
• Removing unused CSS that’s currently loading
• Preloading critical scripts while deferring non-essential ones
• Eliminating unused JavaScript
• Preloading your LCP image for faster perceived loading
• Localhosting fonts instead of external requests

Beyond the basics, you could explore CDN implementation, link prefetching for anticipated navigation, and selective pre-rendering for key pages.

The good news is all these optimizations can be done while keeping UX normal and actually helping SEO rather than hurting it. The key is methodical implementation with testing at each step.

About your budget concerns - quality optimization does require expertise and time, but I think we can structure something that gives you real value without breaking the bank. The trick is prioritizing the changes that’ll give you the biggest impact first.

If you want to discuss a proper approach to optimizing your website without the issues you’ve already faced, feel free to reach out. We can look at options that fit your situation while delivering actual performance improvements.
