NEED HELP!! :( Lost Rankings

Few days back i posted here stating that one of my websites( my main earner ) had grown too large for shared hosting, so to ease the load i commented the_tags line and hence hid all the tags... the traffic shot up and so did earnings as there were no 500 server error cz of the overload

BUT!! After 2 days rankings for almost all my keywords dropped :( ... there were keywords for which my site acquired top 3 positions on page 1... now they were on page 2 or page 5 :( ...

I am assuming that it was because of removing the tags which were acting as internal backlinks...

I have reverted the changes and checked the Google's Cached Version, they have the removed tag version of my site in their cache... should i expect something positive once they cache my pages again??

I am extremely depressed as it was my main source of earning :(

You'll have to wait for Google to crawl right through your site and give your rankings back. Just make sure you reversed everything you did.
 
you have to wait a few days for the spider to revisit your site..

something like that happened to me but after i put everything
back how it was then it went back to the posiston it was in
before i messed around with it...it took three weeks
 
yaa i made everything as it was before, and the Gbot lives on my site as it used to get over 200,000 visits per month and there was a lot happening on the site... the damage took place in a time span of 2 days, so I guess the fixing would take max a week... but still m scared as shit :( ... when i saw all that happened i felt like ending my life ( i know wasnt a good idea but my mind had shut down at that time)

Why did you changed your site in first place... If a site is growing good and making you money you should have shifted to such hosting which could have taken load of it... Instead you went ahead and messed with site to save some money and ended loosing all ranking... If this site doesn't make enough money to justify better hosting then why you are panicking and if it makes then you are just facing consequences of your own hasty actions...

Now wait few days, it takes time for them to re index every pages which you removed... Get better host and move your site...
 
Thats because you are a cheap mofo. You should buy dedicated server.
 
i wouldnt take it too seriously yet, i screwed up a header and lost 50 serps, then went to serp 450 and now at 47 when i started at 12. for me, ive noticed that figuring out where i really am takes a month. some of my sites fluctuate as much as 30 pages regularly when large changes are made, but they usually end up in pretty much the same spot.
 
i accept all your scoldings i know i was a total dick... anyways i have bought a dedicated server and the transfer will take 2-3 days... i have restored all the tags/pages as well... google's cache still has the NON TAGS version of my site's pages which caused the damage, so iam hoping once it gets shifted to dedi the bots will be able to crawl smoothly without getting a 500 Internal Server error, and site will gain back what it lost....

it was making me 2000+ per month and now iam feeling so bad... its not that the earning has come down to 0 now, but the downfall is dramatic :(

Ok here is an Update...

Purchased a dedicated Server from D9Hosting with the Following configurations

CPU: Core2Quad Q9300 Quad Core (4 * 2.5 Ghz)
RAM: 8 GB
Hard Drive: 1 TB
Monthly Bandwidth: 5,000 GB
cPanel/WHM

The site is shifted from Godaddy and is running smoothly on the new server... I have installed the Wassup statistics plugin and i can see that Bing Bot and Googlebot are going crazy on my site, they seem to be sucking every link they come across...

Is it a good sign? :-s ... iam just wishing i get back the rankings that i had lost...

Yeah, that's good sign... hope you get back to at least where you were.
 
Thanks BTB, oh yaa just to tell you all ( u already must be knowing) .. NEVER BUY HOSTING WITH GODADDY .... They suspended my account this morning, i had to use the backups on my system to set up the site on the Dedi...
 
*******UPDATE*********

Well its been 3 days on a dedicated server and after undoing the changes it seems that its a google dance going on, and a major one....

Traffic is slowly returning, however its far from what it was earning earlier($80/day) .. now its ($20/day) .. but Iam kind of relieved as 3 days back it dropped down to $6 a day :-s...

Googlebot is crawling the site like crazy and THE ONLY PROBLEM i can see is that google is deindexing many of my pages but for several keywords my rank is improving...

Can it be the change of IP?? Any guesses??

neo3187, I know the feeling of earning a normal amount a day and all of sudden things change and you get little or nothing. It was a bad move on your part for not getting a dedicated server, but it's good to see you have now and making progress. Hope everything returns to normal for you bro.

You need to give it some time. Let google do its thing now. You have done whatever you could do. Trust me, this is the best you could have done after the fatal mistake.

Give it 2-3 weeks and you will be back with much better rankings. Don't panic! Again! :D

Thanks daser :) ... really need such hopes...lol i have posted an update also above... the site was earning $6 on 1st feb, after the disaster, on 4th feb it earned $24 ... so iam just keeping my fingers crossed :D
