I was searching on google for my targeted keywords to see who is already ranking there and found three different domain names in top ranking. Domain names are not even relevant to the niche but they are in top rankings. And when i click the search result, it redirects to another domain. All three different domain names are redirecting to the same site.

How is that possible? What technique is this ?

In google, a totally irrelevant domain name appearing in top search results and when click that search result, it redirects to another domain.

Hope someone will put my mind at peace!

They have redirected their domain to maybe affiliate website. Its known trick called "Clocking"
But looks like they found a way to sneak into google first page without any issue.

The domain name does not necessarily have to correspond to a niche.

They monopolized the top positions of the niche - standard practice in competitive niches.

Look at the Google search engine issue copies of these pages in the cache - you will see the content and you will be able to understand how they broke into the top rankings .

Also analyze the backlinks.

It's called cloaking. Check the cache in Google / Wayback Machine to see if you can see the original page. The website redirects Google to a different page instead of the user, hence why it can rank for something its not related too because in Google's eyes it only sees the "cloaked" page.
