So I have this excel sheet that is a database of thousands of investors, venture capitalists, etc... Now, I was talking to my dad, and I asked him if he knew any companies that were looking for investors. My idea was to just sell them the excel sheet for chump change and let them figure out the rest. But of course, my dad immediately called me an idiot and said this:
"Look, first you need to make sure that you can offer exactly what the company is looking for. For instance, I'm in talks with an oil company that is looking for funding, but without having to give shares. They want it to be a pure loan. I know other companies that are more flexible. My point is that your information is only worth something if it saves them time and/or effort, or if it makes it otherwise easier for them to get the funding. So you would need to go through those investors one by one and get their requirements in terms of documentation, collateral, processes, etc and categorise them so if your client tells you the kind of investment they want, you at least know who can and cannot do it."
So I was thinking of using AI to scrape the required information from their websites, but I soon realised that they simply don't post that information on their websites. One would need to contact them. So I was thinking of a straightforward cold email where i straight up ask them all of this, but how? There's thousands of emails. Where do I even start?
Any ideas?
