Need help for 301 redirect.

I want to delete some post from my WordPress website. I have already make some backlinks for this post. I want to to redirect the post link after deleting and also want to use the backlink juice. What type of redirect should I use and how to do it?

Should I make redirect to only my homepage?

Yoast Premium (You can download it from there in the Members Download section) can handle this or, you can also download a free plugin called Redirection, this is a great plugin.

It depends on the type of links pointing to a particular piece of content. But, in general, it would be best to redirect to a related or similar article on your site.

Tell me something, Why are you deleting this post? Aren´t you targeting that keyword anymore? Are you building or have a similar piece of content?

I think vanilla Wordpress already does this automatically?

You can redirect those links to relevant pages. if you don't have relevant pages then you can redirect to homepage logically. So the link power and traffic will be passed to that particular page.
