Hello dear experts,

I'm an SEO consultant (new), I don't have too much experience in search engine optimization. I have done only three projects. Now I got an order from the local buyer for do on page optimization. But the problem is the buyer ask me, from where I have to start his task.
1. Fix w3c error or
2. Increase page speed inside?

Can you please recommend me which answer should I give them? Number 1 or 2 ? Before I didn't get any question like this.

Please help me dear experts.

Thanks in advance.

You got to laugh, SEO consultant who knows very little about SEO. Why not just become a surgeon next week, or maybe a plumber, a vet?
Dear Mickyfu, Before I didn't get any question like this from anyone. That's why I ask here. I know I have to fix all error issues. Which one would be the first task it doesn't matter but buyer wants to know from me.

Thanks for your reply.

You can find people on Fiverr that will configure W3 Total Cache for small fee.

I would not try to do it yourself, it can go terribly wrong.

Minify images with smushit and add website to free cloudflare, would be a start to increase page speed.

Css sprites as well will increase speed.

If they are using a lot of images hosted on affiliate programs, such as banners, it normally helps to host the image yourself.

Thanks again dear Mickyfu, I know JS and CSS minify and compressed images after done, page speed would be increased. But question is from where I should start my job, a question from the client.

I would suggest fixing the Page Speed issues first because your client (and his websites users) will get a faster loading website, which is good all round for users and SEO.

w3c should be done 2nd if the client really wants it, simply because fixing page speed issues might require changes in your code (which will mean needing to revalidate w3c and possibly fix again)

Thanks Orkney, I was just want to that, even though I told him I will fix page speed issues first.

You should fix W3C errors first. Then you can simply optimise the page speed using cache plugins. Otherwise, you'll just be doing double the work.

I have already done page speed issues and w3c errors. Even My On-page optimization almost finish. Thanks for reply.

Thanks again for your kind and honest replies.

Can you please review the website and feedback me. I have done On-Page optimization for http://grabfreefollowers.com/

It is good to do and you look like you got it done faster than answers. My answer would probably be that both have little relevance unless you are on page one and looking for reasons to jump a spot from onpage alone....unless of course the site was a total mess when you got it (ie; not ranking, no links, overoptimized...etc... then I would say hey why not lets do this as well.) if the client wants to rank..... tell him to sit back and let you call the shots and do the job... assuming you are comfortable doing it.

Not everyone is expert, but you need to be smart and learn it soon.

If you don't know the concepts, then you won't understand the problem. Start with some basic SEO tools like (GTmetrics, SEMrush etc..) to find out the problems and fix it based on priority.

No one study no more all websites and plugin .

You need to.no the theory behind all these applications .

Eat a book or two will help ...
