Hello guys
I'm pretty much new here. I'm trying to rank local online store by local i mean my country. I already wrote articles, edit products description, add pictures, insert alt tag on them. I also set up watermark on pictures and tried to edit HTML code as much as possible to the rules.
In my competition on google i recognized about 5 or 6 online stores. I checked their sites what they are doing for SEO, but didn't discover anything that i don't have on my store. Only thing that i found is that their domains are 5+ years old. I also found interesting that one store is having their site translated in multiple languages(4), and this store is ranked first in most of keywords i target.
Sorry for my english.
Hope for some answers, thanks
Regards

You will need to be creative to get backlinks from local media/blogs. I would recommend:
- Find influencers in Social media and invite them to some event where you invite them to test your products
- Get VERY GOOD at customer service. People in blogs and forums tend to give lots of love in comments and threads to stores that shows a great effort to help their customers.
- Find any local event where you can contribute with your work or money
- Try to get in local media by doing something remarkable or eye-catching. If you do something on a Saturday and you send a nice press release you will likely show up in the online version of local media. Target specially the smaller ones, they are always starving for news.

REPUTATION MANAGEMENT is one of the important for your ecommerce store to get new customers by having good reviews.

Thanks for this valuable information.

Just keep increasing some naturally looking backlinks making sure to include some social signals, and I've never looked into how different languages can affect seo but I guess it cant hurt.

Backlinks remain the #1 ranking factor, but that's not all. Citations and user behaviors (relevant traffic, brand search) are also very important.

Try this Reputation management+Social Signals+Citation+Classified ads submission, try it and get the best results.

Social network channels would be the asset for any ecomerce site. Use your product images with relevant content to share on Social channels , It will help you to grow your brand value.

You need proper seo & sem, i can help you over this, and you need to post facebook and google adwords ad for proper marketing.

Keep Active on Social Media Profiles.
Blog would help too.
Build backlinks on niche websites.
Niche Directories.
Write a lot of interesting content for content marketing (guest posting, article submission etc.). Content has great scope for eCommerce industry.
Promote offers, deals etc. (Coupon/Deal Submissions etc.)

I think one of factors that drives your competitors success is multiple translations. They can improve your situation. At least, they have helped in my case. Even if you are local online store, you still may have a lot of clients that speak english as a second language or international clients (and prefer Spanish or Chinese versions). It also depends on your niche - your products can be so unique that you can easily bank on clients from other countries (even if you have never planned to go global).

Hii,,
You mentioned true age of the domain and its ranking matters but if you worked harder u can beat them even ...

The best thing I would suggest you is setup a blog with wordpress or something and start blogging on relevant keywords like if ur selling pendrives just post an blog realated to same like best pen drive to buy and link your products page with same and work on link building and generate some social signals on same,,,buy all this u will have traffics and even this can be generated into sales with improving ur rank in the google..

Its great hearing u have worked harder on On page but with onpage combition of offpage and social sinals is must to raise ur ranking,,

well if u need help in link building just pm me..

I suggest you to do, posts about your store on others blogs, press releases, social media marketing and back links. If the local classified sites available to your city, try to post all products and information with your website links in there.
Do n't try to do black hat methods.

Hello,
In my opinion first optimize your eCommerce website properly and spread it over the social media channels so that everybody see it and get familiar with it. Also submit your website to local search engine.

I hope this information is helpful to you.

Age is the key. They are in business for years.
You need more effort to run them over.

It takes some time buddy.

Social media is the best option for the eCommerce site. Promote your website social media and do SEO. eCommerce is the biggest competitive business so do hard work and one day you will succeed
