Need help asapplication to do with pc building! Very simple advice for $5!

Ok, did you plug the monitor into the motherboard vga or the graphics card? If you have a graphics card installed and plugged the monitor into the mobo there's usually compatibility issues (unless you change bios setting but I'm assuming you didn't). Just to test it, plug a HDMI display (TV) and plug it directly into the graphics card and reboot (make sure there's no other display cables plugged into mobo or card). If you get a screen then you isolated the problem. I've been building computers for 7 years PM me if you need a further, technical walk though.

It will probably only be two or three things -

1. If there is on board and dedicated graphics then try both ports

2. Change input on monitor

3. Make sure all powers are in on the board - normally there is two

4. The board could be shorting somewhere - check that you have all the feet on it correctly. Also worth trying take it out of case, rest it on some card and plug in and test that way

5. Take out all but one stick of ram and test with each single stick in

If none of those work then it's the board.

I didnt read every answer here. I was owner of pc repair shop long ago. Do ur mobo have integrated graphic card? If so plug ur monitor into it, go to bios , and set directive to use VGA instead of integrated.

Don't have a graphics card separately but I think it's integrated... no clue how ro do that tho! Can u add me on skype guantanamoba to guide me through better?

Yes its important to underline that VGA can mean 15 pin blue connector ( VG array) and it can also mean VGA (VG adapter aka separate graphic card). OP means it as blue connector ;)

Try HDMI if ur integrated GC and monitor support it
