Need answer about amazon affiliate

Hi friends, I want to know answer about amazon affiliate program and I'm new to this program..

My question is,
I selected a book from amazon and created a link for it using my affiliate link.
And already amazon book link is @ first page, if I do our SEO's for my affiliate link and defeat that amazon link, will I get more sales from my affiliate link??

In simple words, is it be useful on working on it??

if you have a useful review page or something on that book and you rank higher than amazon then yes you should make cash
