Hello all,

I’ve been lurking on here for a while, so much valuable information, I appreciate you all.

A little intro about me, I’m currently working as an SRE with 6 years experience in the IT field doing other roles before this one.
I have no college degree and made my way in to the field via an internship program and previous IT experience that I taught myself.

I make ok money but still in the low average for my position. I feel like I should be getting more in my field given that I work from home so work/life balance is messed up.

I have basic coding experience, basic in a sense I can understand what code is doing but I haven’t written any myself. It something I’m interested in but keep studying on and off

Aside from my full time job, I sometimes do delivery gigs but those are becoming a waste of time with gas prices and inflation.

I also have an Etsy shop that I have some pod stuff posted on and a few digital products, however I have daily Etsy ads running with a $3 budget and I get maybe 1 sale a week/2 weeks that just about covers my ad spending but I don’t make profit

I’ve been reading a lot on here about different methods, affiliate, cpa/cpi, YouTube, Instagram, etc.

It’s very overwhelming, I don’t know which one is the best, easiest, worth the time, etc. However, I don’t want it to be anything related to porn or gambling things like that are against my religion.

My goal is to make $100-$200 a day extra and maybe scale up to $10k a month

I would appreciate any advice/help on this and even better if someone is willing to mentor me. I’m somewhat of a fast learner and can pick up on things quick

In fact, porn is very profitable, but according to your beliefs and religion, like me, this does not suit us. Let us think about other things. Can you provide us with your actual experiences? Have you tried shopping before, or have you sent emails to specific customers?

Actual experiences in what aspect ?
I know a little about a lot of things but not a lot about one thing.

Have I tried shopping ? I’m assuming you meant shipping? I do have a few POD items on my Etsy and I tried to do a Shopify store but had no luck
As part of my Etsy shop I have automatic emails setup through Etsy to send discounts to people that favorite/add to cart. if that’s what your asking

When it comes to choosing a new income stream, it can indeed be overwhelming with the multitude of options out there. My suggestion would be to start with something that aligns with your skills and interests. If you enjoy creating content, consider starting a YouTube channel or an Instagram account focused on a topic you're passionate about. You can monetize these platforms through ad revenue, sponsorships, or selling digital products.

Keep in mind that building a sustainable income stream takes time, effort, and perseverance. But with your determination and eagerness to learn, I'm confident you can achieve your goal of making an extra $100-$200 a day and scaling up to $10k a month.

You are getting 1 sale every 2 week that mean there is money to be made, so why don't u scale it with ads?

It doesn't really matter what you do but you have to stick with it. There aren't really any get rich quick schemes despite what gurus will tell you. Choose a method that engages you, learn it inside out and be prepared to grind and you will achieve your goals. And if not you can always deal drugs, thats way more profitable than 100 bucks a day!

I have ads running through Etsy already.
I have $3 daily budget, the item cost is $9.99, $8 or so of that is profit
The item that’s selling once every 2 weeks is a design bundle (svg, cricut, etc.)

Just scale with more products

Yeah but I’m having trouble making a decision. What method should I learn inside out that is not going to be outdated or saturated by the time I learn it
It feels like every time I see something that I think would be a good idea to start on, say affiliate marketing for example, I start getting into it and then I discover YouTube and now I wanna do YouTube then I discover say CPI and I think oh that sounds like it’s better

Thats my whole point. I dont think anyone is in a position to tell you what interests and engages you.
Apart from paid traffic, it all involves a LOT of work, and paid traffic takes a LOT of cash, so do what interests you, whether it be affiliate marketing for exotic birds, motivational YouTube shorts, or building a social media account for scale modeling. It doesn't matter; you can make money on (almost) anything with the right amount of effort, but it's far easier to put in the effort if you like the subject and if its something you already know about then its easier to produce authentic content.
And concentrate on one thing, not 3, 4 or 10 - 'shiny object syndrome' is the downfall of most would be marketers I know, I've been that guy.
And by the way, people have been saying things are 'saturated' for the last 10 years, and here we are, still making money from YT, SEO etc - do you research, pick something you like, invest the time and make bank. Its that simple. Good luck

I’m slowly working on that, trying to build more sales/reviews on my Etsy shop but the competition is huge on there and it’s hard to rank
