I have thought about featured listings but not sure who will pay for it though. I get comments where people complain about the brands1. Offer advertising space on your website. You can charge businesses to feature their ads in prominent spots on your site.
2. Sell sponsored listings. Businesses can pay to have their listings featured prominently in your directory.
3. Offer premium features. You can charge users to access features such as enhanced search capabilities or additional contact details.
4. Utilize affiliate links. You can embed affiliate links in your directory that will direct users to partner websites.
5. Charge for featured listings. You can charge businesses for the privilege of having their listings featured on your site.

Where to find clients for it.Featuring sponsored listings on the homepage and sidebar will be awesome. You can charge a fixed amount for a monthly sponsored listing.
You can contact websites that list directory websites for the clients and ask them to give a link to your website on theirs. The second method is to advertise locally on Google and the third way is to get listed on local business websites.Where to find clients for it.
