Hi BHW. It's been some time since I started watching this forum an you guys post a lot of interesting stuff here. I'm trying methods, without results yet, but I'm patient. :)

However, I want to start a small business with some friends and see if it's going .
I'm talking about a niche online store targeting only my country.

I've searched for the most used keywords in this niche and the numbers are pretty good.
    3 different keywords:
    1st - 14k search/month
    2nd - 10k
    3rd - 3k

All of these keyworks are the main keywords in this niche.

Now, I looked for competition and here is where I'm getting scared.
1st google result: this guys is blasting the sht out of everything. he has like 33k backlinks and all the main keywords well optimized. domain age is 2 years and 9 months. around 25k indexed urls
2nd result: is a website that no longer exists. 8 months age. 5k backlinks.
3rd result: ~100k backlinks, but seems like on page seo it's pretty lame, so even if he has 100k backlinks he's still low and i assume those backlinks are also not built on the niche keyworks.

last google result on 1st page: 1 year 8 months old, almost no backlinks , 77k pages indexed.

SO, bottom line. Do I have any chances to make it to the 1st page?
I'll be thankful for any advice.

    Keep it real!

Nobody can tell you based off the stats you listed.

Sure some of these sites have a good amount of links, but are they good links or shit links? Quality makes a big difference, and could be the difference between yes or no.

You're going to have to do a thorough backlink analysis.

As far as can you do it or not, I don't know, can you?

Some people on this forum can rank some of the toughest keywords out there, while others struggle to rank simple keywords. Only you know your skill level.

But if you have to ask, the answer is usually "No you can't".

    Just keepin it real.
