Couple of weeks i got mail from [email protected] and asked my credit card details for account verification. I supplied and today i found someone bought 5 domains from my account using my credit card.

So guys if you someone get email from [email protected] fuck them and ignore that mail.

And last one confusion how did they get my namecheap username and password. I've never saved my password anywhere rather than my mind...

Namecheap does not scam. Period. They are the best domain registrar out there.
 
Hi,

It sounds like someone has hacked their database in order to gain access to that [email protected] email address. Are you sure that this was the correct emailing address?

But they aren't a scam, probably someone sent you a fake email, you should have known. Companies never ask for a CC verification they would rather ask for identity paper stuff.
And it's very simple to fake a sender's email.
 
It would be interesting to see how Namecheap will respond if someone was to provide proof of this scam to them.
 
Rule 1 on the internet: Never give your Info!

A while ago, a server provider asked me to provide copy of my credit card and my ID, they accused me of credit card fraud. I did respond with a long mail telling them that what they are asking from me is illegal and i will report them. If they have a prof against me doing fraud they should reported to the police or other authorities. I never heard front hem again, but I eventually change my server provider.

So my advice to everyone there, never give up your info even if its an empty visa card, the consequence can be life changing.

fuck that shit, I would never send over sensitive information via email. No matter how trusted a company might be. Anyone can have access to that info.
 
Seriously, how could you fall for this lame scam ?
Someone just spoofed the email headers, not a big deal.
It will be wise to block the card and get a new one.
 
Namecheap are running a clean ship over there. They are one of the most legit registrars available.

It's called phishing and no that's likely not their real email you can spoof it....
People get phishing mails from banks everyday. And unless you look at the url on the page you go to, you can't be sure.

Make sure you block your credit card because most of the hackers will empty it if you do not.

I've open a ticket with screenshot and timestamp...waiting for their response..how someone got the email from namecheap specially [email protected]
 
Sorry to hear that you got scammed,

Few weeks ago I received email from Paypal, asking to verify my account and a link to another website that looks the same as paypal, even had convincing email and domain name, I reported paypal about this scam, are you sure about their email?
BE AWARE: Reputable companies would never ask for your credit card details, SSN, passwords etc.
If you are not sure if the mail you received is legit, contact your domain company/Paypal/ebay, and ask them if there is a problem with your account.

I know it might be frustrating, but I suggest to take it as a lesson, and to keep on the good work!
