Namecheap scamm

OP is trolling. No one here is stupid enough to fall for these scams... Get them every other day.... Bad spelling or suspect English is always a clue

If not trolling, be thankful that's all they bought.... More is to come trust me......

Reminds me of an old joke.... The wife's credit card was stolen a few months back, but I still haven't reported it.... they spend less than my wife....

I don't think the scam had anything to do with Namecheap. Be more careful next time.
 
I think you have technical issue apply for ticket support.
 
Everyone keeps sayings that someone must have hacked name cheap or something. Not true. Let's remember just how easy it is to spoof an email address these days with free tools online. Check the IP and other info of the email first.
 
Was the reply-to address the same?
 
I've seen emails like that (only better looking) from Namecheap, Godaddy, Expedia, Hotels.com and a ton of other ones. Some of them are actually really good! There was a huge wave of those emails in Austria & Switzerland last year and the year before that Ireland, Scottland and England.

So don't feel bad for yourself, you're not the only fish they hooked!

Anyway, no legit company will ever ask you for information like that. Easy as that!
 
learn to protect yourself online... a namecheap account means you have a domain. a domain means you can stop using Gmail for stuff which requires your CC (it's harder to generate all the [email protected] than all the [email protected]).

if you choose to use the same email address over and over again, all over the web and then use that same email address to pay your bills eventually someone will get to you :)
 
Who on earth would send complete CC details to verify an account except you and me.. .ha ha... I send an scanned copy of my visa card to a broker once, I just forgot to blank out the CVV number. But they were kind enough to reject the document.

Next step for you would be to notify namecheap and your bank.
 
Can't believe you fell for it.
Not even banks ask for a client's financial information online.
Haven't you heard of phishing?
 
I would venture to guess that the email was spoofed. You can view the email header by doing the following:

1) Log into Gmail and open the email
2) Next to the reply button, click the drop down arrow.
3) Click "show original"
 
Main deal is how did they knew my namecheap username and password ?
He bought few domains from my CC since using CC need address and postal which i didn't gave him..Fortunately only price of few domains have been used and From namecheap i think they are going to cancel those domains and give me refund.

Click reply on the email and see where it trys to make it go. Notice the address. Could be a quick and east clue that it's fake as well.
