This is my experience with namecheap with this domain
I have more than 900 domains with namecheap and this problem happened only on this domain (happened with another one also before)

So I bought yesterday a domain that have 2 keywords (normal keyword) room and studio with 1 number
When I tried to add the domain to my hosting i got this

so contacted the support

Namecheap responsibly tries to reduce Internet fraud. Our work includes partnering with global authorities to identify and prevent the most current abuse patterns. Based on this work, domains that contain certain keywords cannot be automatically added.

Unfortunately, our system has detected that your domain contains one of the keywords that are automatically banned, and therefore, it has blocked its addition to cPanel.

We can whitelist the domain in question for you manually if the corresponding department investigates the case and proves that it is legit. Once it is done, you'll be able to proceed with adding it to the cPanel in question.

I understand that not all uses of domains with these keywords have abusive purposes. Still, to check the possibility of whitelisting the domain, I will need you to answer two questions.

Firstly, could you please share for what purposes you use the domain and any other services connected with it?

Secondly, could you please confirm that you understand the following?

- If the case is proven to be a trademark infringement, you run the risk of hosting account suspension with no possibility of a refund.

It’s a standard procedure for all the domains that are banned in our system. Furthermore, it won’t be possible to check the possibility of whitelisting without your kind cooperation.


so I asked for a refund as it will be too much hustel and won't worth it for that

I wanted to buy a domain from them today but I'm not sure about them anymore.

I know how it feels when you lose your money for no fault of yours, but you can put across your point by being professional. He's just a chat support agent, no need to get so aggressive and abusive.

And Namecheap is a 3rd party there, so they cannot provide refund.

Yes EU and have more than 500 domains with .eu LTD

Namecheap does some very scammy things. Last month I renewed my hosting package and the next day they suspended it without any explanation. They waited until I paid and then just suspended it completely. Messaged them, but they said "No refund".

I will never pay by CC again. Only by PayPal. If they pull something like this off again, I send a dispute.

Two years ago I had a similar situation. They refused to refund me, I opened a PayPal dispute, uploaded all the evidence, and then they were refunded.

From my point of view, I see it a bit differently.

GoDaddy is one of the biggest domain registrars worldwide!
I do not like them as well. I'm currently on a sell-off. They have around 200 Domains in their Portfolio, and what they did was not professional.
So I decided to move on - Dynadot, for example.

NameCheap is a good one. You can pay with crypto, the support is responsive, and you get very good conditions.
The same applies to Spaceship (which belongs to NameCheap).

look at tld-list.com
Type in what you want to have, or look at the TLD costs.
You can't go wrong with them.

SAV: I am there as well, but from what I heard, their Support is not good. Luckily, I had no touchpoints with them.

In the Domain-Trading "Bubble," most of the Users have Accounts on NameBright, NameSilo, NameCheap, Spaceship (since it has incredible Discounts), DynaDot (from my Point of view, the Best!), and GoDaddy is Leading. Their Package and everything they Provide is simply Good!
But some things did not go well - at least for me.
Now, they have started to charge for the Domain Appraisal Tool.

Well, there are many others, but if you want Cheap Domains, take the one I mentioned. Otherwise, there are many others, like Hostinger, etc.
But you will pay more.

They suspended my account with a couple of domains only a few days after the payment. I think internetbs is better in this regard.

Considering that, we have different experiences. But I have to admit. I have most of my Domains at GoDaddy (40%), SAV (30%), DynaDot (10%), NameBright (15%), NameCheap (5%)

If you paid via credit card you can get them to charge back. The credit card will issue you a refund if you did not get what you paid for.
 
Something very similar happened to me back in 2021 when I was registering a domain with the word covid.

They said that word triggered their system.

But it's strange because in my case money was debited and domain wasn't registered.

So I asked for refund but they did whitelist that within a few minutes while on live chat.
 
There's something about chat agents. They're often from third-world countries, underpaid, lack skills and training, and have no real authority. They just waste your time with pointless questions and accomplish nothing. Deep down, they hate the company they work for due to mistreatment.

What you should do is submit a ticket instead because the chat agents will likely do the same, but worse. Explain your situation and subtly threaten to move your domain portfolio to another registrar. By the way, Namecheap lives up to its name, while its prices are similar to other providers, their support is terrible and cheap. They could have avoided this issue by adding a filter before domain registration
