Hello, I have an old YouTube channel and the shorts I post remain at 0 views. If there are 1-2 views, I will continue, but only having 0 views confuses me. Am I doing something wrong?

You can absolutely get the first views from friends, or other social platforms, or DM me, Don't be discouraged because everything starts from 0

Are their strikes on the channel ?

That is normal if you just "re"started posting videos. Just wait 1 or 2 weeks while continually posting videos daily. Yt bot only recognize old channels with existing videos or at least 1 short or long form.

so 0 views is normal ?

Getting 0 views in the beginning of your journey is normal, youtube isn't sure on who to promote your video to.
To have better chances at getting views and letting youtube know who to push your videos to you could:

1. Edit the files name to something that is similar to the video title itself. Do not upload video files that are named "Project 1/2/3..." "untitled" etc'.
2. Edit the metadata in your video files, and a short description in the "comments" section of the file and add tags in the "tags" section of the file.
3. Use youtube tags but do not overdo it, the sweet spot is around ~300 characters.
4. Use 3-5 hashtags in the description.
5. Make sure your thumbnails are eye-catching, something that will incentivize a viewer to click on your video.
6. Keep going and don't give up, building a foundation is the hardest part of growing a youtube channel.

1. Often overlooked and great advice for every upload on every site/social media! Seperate words by underscore or hyphen and have same phrase they will search for.
Nice post!

I will add for OP, that view duration percentage is so important! If people help you get views or you help yourself make sure they watch 100% and switch to new vid because it wont count as 2 views to rewatch.

Thanks for the guide mate, I will also try soon :)

It is actually normal for you to get zero views since you are just starting out but don’t be discouraged, it only gets better.

Were you earlier posting long form content only on that channel? How many subscribers does that channel have?

It is usually very hard to get success from the get go on YouTube. Make sure that you are posting something that have an audience and keep posting it regularly. If you don't see an improvement in a few weeks, you should try different type of videos.

sometimes is normal but not always and depends how much time you being stuck in 1 or 2 views, add a few more hash tags, change the time you are uploading the short and check the niche if is over saturated sometimes is difficult but depends in the quality of the content you are uploading.
