My site drop to Rank 500 from 4!!

What were you doing in terms of link building when you got dropped?

Yep, search your mind... it alone can/will tell you what bad strategy you used (e.g., some abrupt hike in unnatural back-links or something similar in case you never used any unnatural b-l tactics) during those days. Poke & pinch you own mind first and go systematically ... one of its compartments actually remembers many things which you 'seem' to have forgotten. Look over your actual back-links if you were and are using MS, for example... If you have noticed a high-power back-link then but may be that link is no more, then it can cause a drop... if you are unaware, then simply try getting some very high-quality links to your site/pages. Considering other general factors remain same (like: your site/pages' high-quality content, on-page SEO, traffic quality & quantity, etc.), this alone can cause your pages to get back on the top again.

May be, you have a seasonal-type site. So expect the site to jump up before/around July next -- sorry, this year. May be your niche has died a natural/violent death after July... whatever. May be you targeted some seasonal events before or during July which became stale in & after August... j/k of course!
What else? --- ummmm, you think! I am off to sleep... have been "working continuously" since the last year and 6 hours more into this new year without sleep (in my part of this great world). GL!

Well maybe it's just google dance, watch out, I got tricked before, Google's crazy, I ranked no.3 for a keyword, and now im on 2nd page, and then 1 day im on 3rd, the other day im on 1st, all mixes. Wait few weeks to make sure it's stable.

Another thing is, log out from your account in google (top right) , and clear cache, then search your term in Google.

Continue building backlinks.

Just continue about your business. (Link building, updating with fresh quality content, etc.)
You'll get back up there in some time.

Keep on putting new and fresh contents.

Keep doing what you're doing.. building backlinks, updating with fresh content.

You'll just have to wait this one out.

You can do one thing.

Just check the websites which is at your rank now. Do some analysis of those websites and compare with your own. You might get an idea. !! hope this helps.

same thing happend with me for couple of my blogs..

1) I used UWCS myself
2) I used scrapebox service
3) I also used xrummer services in these blogs


my backlinks does not get noticed...
those pages get indexed link for other site get noticed but not backlinks for my blog.
after this I paid for quality blog comments and forum signature too
and added content ( not unique)

my site ranks for one keywords on first page
but not for other keywords i want it to rank for

Is your domain name and target keywords are same?
title and domain name are same?
have you done any keyword stuffing? on your site?
in your meta tags and content and on page(like footer)?
and do you have duplicate content on your site.

what change you did in july

I have abandoned these sites will keep them till i have ownership of these domains names....if something miraculous happens I will start focusing on them again
and my problem also started in JULY 2010.

for now I am protecting my adsense account and autoblogs and not goign to do any damage to them.

for all the help i got on this... is on this thread nothing extra..
I went step further..but no help...
google is crawling my site
pages are getting indexed Backlinkes form HIGH PR pages
I added fresh content ( not 100% unique)

or it was my effort to get my backlinks indexed .....

Google gone mad, they kicks many of them from 500 to 3 and many of best rankers to 500. I may be some no-follow or band backlinks which have done this all.

Yes, it's not ban from google

When my site drop to rank 500 around 3 month ago, I continue to update unique content for everyday around a month but I haven't try to get backlink. It's still under rank 500.

What is the best strategy except submit google reinclusion?

I don't know what should I do?

same here! since december 19, 2010 till now, i lost 1500 UV/day from google! we have similar problem!

Also same problem here, over a year old site, gone from 400 uv's /day down to less than a hundred, 95% of my rankings for various keywords have dropped 4 or 5 pages.

Dropping a few pages can be normal when link building,apparantly it is google seeing if you continue link building(usually happens when you build links too fast).A drop of 500 pages is a different kettle of fish thats a punishment.Have you used an automated link building softwares.

Many seems to have this exact problem including me. I have contacted a couple guys who reported the issue first and their rankings are already back. The longest it took was 10 days. This is my 6th day. Hope I will be back soon.

I'm going to tie in this other thread because this looks like an issue that is affecting a lot of webmasters...

1.It looks like a google punishment for me. It could happen after making some blasts (SB, xrummer). You can be back after x months, where x could be from 3 to 24.

2.Alternatively some of your best links could just disappeared.

You just need time and patience.
