Wow, for a noob you certainly have done your homework before you started! You sound like a pro already! Keep up the good work and I'll be following along closely. As someone mentioned earlier in this thread, it's unreal how much content you have pumped out. I'd maybe write 3 articles and I'd be paying for the rest
P.S. If you get a little time, check out PHPBUILT's thread titled idiot proof guide to an authority site building. He offers
invaluable info about page and article over optimization that you as well as others in this thread can benefit a great deal from. I'd link to it here if i could
Thank you! I read that thread a few days ago and am looking forward to his future posts on how he builds out his web 2.0 sites. I have since audited my site with his advice and have had some private discussions with him. Not saying he is wrong, but I have yet to see any difference in rankings yet, may take some time. I've probably read every thread on this site which gets over 10 pages
I'm skeptical about one thing php says however. There has to be some mitigating factor which isn't being accounted for. An example, if you have a site about birds or dogs, those particular words are going to show up a lot more than the 2% ratio that he advocates. He says that if your keyword density for any word rises above a certain limit, you get slapped with a penalty for your entire page, not just that particular keyword. I think that goes beyond keyword stuffing and that Google wouldn't do that, however, he's the expert. My theory is that some common words and phrases Big G is more lenient on.
Might have missed it but how many articles you got on your site now bro?
I have at least 50 articles, I could easily make it 400 articles without reaching too much. Writing isn't that difficult, I can research and write 1k words in about 30 minutes once I am in a groove, it is my strongest asset.
Update: Every page is now ranked in the top 100, but there seems to be an invisible barrier around 40 that none of my pages are moving past, and this is where blackhat techniques will probably come in.. I've discovered that Google doesn't really index/update my site like it should, and that will probably change once I get some backlinks. This is causing my rankings to slowly slide and then about once every week or so I'll log in and all of my rankings have shot back up. My income hasn't broken a dollar a day since my last update and my traffic has flat lined. Discouraging but I'm better than I was at this time last month.
To Do List:
1. I have a blog on wordpress.com which I'm adding one article a day to. I started on this particular site because I am familiar with wordpress, although I've noticed it is still different and not all of the features work how I would like them to. This will eventually be my first powerful backlink. Once this is successful, I'll slowly learn each web 2.0 site and how those particular platforms work, and scale up. After I have 5 web 2.0's created on the various sites, I'll purchase GSA+KM, cross my fingers, and start my backlinking campaign.
2. More content. Now that my landing pages are done, I'm trying to add at least 5 support articles to each category every day. Each support article has a minimum of 300 words, as I'm trying to keep it short so that I can get more pages done.
3. Adding Tables. This has turned into a pain in the ass. I have the go responsive tables, and it took me way too long to learn how to use it. The Tables look good in my opinion, but adding Amazon pictures, affiliate links, and pertinent info is extremely time consuming.
