My scrapebox - Help me....

Ok, this is what I replied to the support. Hope it can help to get this annoying bug recognized and solved. I took the liberty to quote Kensai post :)

---

Sorry but I don't think the error is caused by the Remote Desktop connection or
by resources issue. If you read carefully through the thread, you'll noticed
that this is happening to people both on their home computer and with powerful
server. Beside, the task manager says that SB is Not Responding while this bug
occurs, so it also can't be just a visual problem.

I quote one of the most insightful contribution in the topic:

"Bro the problem is not with a malware site or anything like that. Its just a

site in that lists that screws up scrapebox engine, be it with java or html or
some bad/buggy code in it that causes scrapebox to crash. So its not spamlist
filtering you need or something like that, its manual filtering.

In the case of the OP, lets say that you have 10k links. Download Notepad++ or

any other FREE editor that displays Line Numbers. Since your list has 10k
links, that means it will have 10k lines. Select everything from line 1 to line
2k and save the selection as list1.txt then from line 2k to 4k and save it as
list2.txt and so on from 4 to 6k from 6k to 8k and from 8k to 10k.

Now you have 5 lists.

Start posting with the first list in scrapebox. If it works fine, Keep it
aside. Lets say it works for arguments sake. Then proceed with list2.txt and
use that on scrapebox. Lets say it crashes. Either note where it crashes,
around what link number and copy everything before that number to the previous
success list OR brake the list in chunks of 500 links and blast through each of
them. This way proceed with the lists till you find the problematic url/urls.
Then you merge all the OK lists and recreate your original one.

I have encountered this problem many times, one of the reasons that xrumer is

king and scrapebox is still trying is that Scrapebox Crashes alot. Dont take me
wrong, its a very good tool. But I use it for its addons mostly and not for its
posting abilities. For posting i use xrumer. For work with links I use
scrapebox and its awesome collection of addons. But lets not deviate from the
thread.

It really does not take much time to clean the list. Somethings need to be

done by hand also plus there is no such thing as a free meal. Either accept the
fact that scrapebox is buggy and breaks with some sites, or be prepared to step
in and take control of things yourself. I preffer the second approach "

Wouldn't be simplier to make ScrapeBox recognize this kind of blogs that cause

it to freeze and skip directly them? I'm not a coder so I don't know how hard
this is to implement, but using the method suggested in the post I quote is
really time conuming for large list.

Best regards,

***

Thanks for your reply. I contacted them too. I think when they are gonna be flooded they gonna do something :)

Update: I did my test run with 20 threads, it did goes trought my list! 31k backlinks in 5hrs.

Hey guys,

this is the reply I received:

Hi ***,

"ScrapeBox crashes a lot" ok maybe it does however as you can see in the tool if it crashes it's very simple to submit the error report to my Mantis bug tracker.

Right now 4.3% of the total userbase running the latest version have submitted a crash report to the bug trac. So why have 95.7% of the other users not encountered these bad URL's or had any crash?

"or be prepared to step in and take control of things yourself. I preffer the second approach"

Ok if you prefer the second approach, step in and send me a URL that causes my machine to do what yours is doing, and I will fix it. Deal?

Regards, ScrapeBox Support.

So, if Kensai or others have isolated some of the URLs that make SB crash (as stated above, I use random commenter so I can't localize those URLs ), can you write them here or send me them trough PM so I can forward them to the support and finally solve this thing for all of us?

Thanks!

Actually figured out this URL thing myself too. I did not save that URL but SB kept freezing at the same URL so I'd bet kensai is right. If anyone has such an URL lets forward it to SB team. I put up around 2.8mil list in fast poster for tonight so likely I will get stuck with the same error at some point. To bad I did not split my lists. :(

To others who split their list with notepad as someone suggested:
You can split lists inside scrapebox at the right side next to the harvested URLs section. (cant tell you now exactly how as all of my copies are running ATM..)

Seems there is an update on latest scrapebox for fixing crashes when scrapebox parses malformed urls! Maybe they listened?

That would be great, although personally I haven't the chance to send them any of the URLs causing the problem...
