‍ My Revival Journey

Sounds like you’ve got a solid plan to get back in the game! Starting with a simple site to test the waters is smart—plus, using it as a way to shake off perfectionism could be a game-changer. Just dive in, and you’ll probably find that things start to flow once you’re in the groove. Good luck with this new journey; you've got this!

Hi to all,

I would like to start a journey regarding my first site from a long sabbatical.

I've been an entrepreneur for more than a decade, made multiple 6 figures with SEO, paid ads, parasites, YouTube, black/grey/white hat projects, then I took last years off and bankrupted (not in a legal sense).

In my mind I cannot start anything, before I make the "perfect conditions."

This perfectionism which makes me delay, even procrastinate, but once going - it's full force and outshines.

For example I have this obsession that I have to clear my digital backlog before I start anything. It's primarily bookmarks, prompts, and a large SOP with some misc things as well.

The idea for now is to JUST START!

My goal right now is to start a clear and simple site which will be a starting playground for me with the following goals:

– See how G reacts to informational content in 2025 made throw writing assistants & human editing;
– Get me back to the habit of working with CMS like WordPress;
– Get my confidence back by seeing that I can still create & grow sites;

Last, but not least, to get some money as an ROI so I can utilise that money to buy more premium tools and create better sites and other online businesses.
This sounds like an awesome comeback plan! Starting small and testing things out is a great approach, especially after taking a break. Tackling your perfectionism by just diving in might be the best way to get momentum. Excited to see how your new site grows—bet you'll be back in full swing in no time!

Day 10 – Tuesday, 26th Nov 2024

I woke up around 7 AM.

I was on the computer at home to do light organizational stuff.

At 11 AM I forced myself to go to the gym paying an expensive taxi just to get on time and did a 20 min intensive workout.

I went to work. Did my best there, I used lunch breaks as usual to listen to motivational stuff.

I've read this interesting thing about stripping down complexity and as a minimalist I tried to implant that into my brain.

At 9:30 PM I finished work, did some interesting things there but can't discuss because NDA.

At 10:45 PM I was back at home. Very tired, I didn't have dinner as I am fasting, trying to lose belly fat as well.

At 1 AM I think I started to go to sleep.

Day 11 – Wednesday, 27th Nov 2024

I've work up around 7 AM.

I used the brain implanting from yesterday about stripping complexity.

Starting the site requires three things done simultaneously with launch on-the-go in order to avoid procrastination.

1. Picking a writing assistant.
2. Clear & simple SOP.
3. Content management spreadsheet that is simple and easy to scale!

What I did now in the past hour is to look at all my complexities in terms of the spreadsheets that I've initially planned months ago.

They all SUCK! Why - because they are not easily manageable, they are too complex and because of that they are not scaleable.

What I did is to stripp everything to essentials and re-draft it. Now all the content will be in one Sheet, no tabs, no nothing, Simple & easy to scale, no complex conditional formatting and rules, no management/administrative crap and overburdening crap.

The goal is simple - having something to click directly from the browser's bookmarks bar and see the overview of the articles and what must be written.

Nothing complicated or complex, no brain fatigue, no decision fatigue, no need for complex management.

That must be able to serve anything from 20 to 10K articles, that's the plan!

Will update you as BF will soon be here. I need to think maybe to get a day off in BF to concentrate on my decision.

Financing

I wake up each day filling up my budgeting spreadsheet with all my expenses and income. I'm bleeding cash on a monthly bases no matter the cuts.

I am thinking of ways to get some extra cash for investment.

- Sell of items, for example things from my ex - watch, Amazon Kindle, some expensive shoes and clothes I've never weared, a router etc;
- Get a small consumer bank loan and/or a credit card.

The money from there will be utilised only for the business and will be utilised as a safety net on a psychological level and/or to ramp up production if things start to go well.

Solitude

When someone feels that you are doing something and you try to focus, it's like the universe tries to give you these distractions. I can have my phone on all day and the moment I try to do something - they'll start calling and asking for crap.

We live in an attention economy – everyone wants your attentions, weather it's apps or friends. Back in the day, when I was successful I used to manage these very well. I am thinking of self-isolating while working, something like leaving my phone turned off, in another room in some cabinet and maybe with the SIM cards being pulled off (I think I might have eSIM...).

I told everyone I AM BUSY and they still bug me. Time to respect my boundaries. I want to focus on myself, I don't want to read any PMs, any shared reels, I don't have time to give advices etc. I always hated that I will never ever do it again.

I also don't like the concept of weekends. When the revival of my business happens, I plan to turn off my phone on the weekends, It's time for ME.

We live one live and I don't want to spend it on mindless reels and friends who blame all circumstances, but not themselves.

I look at the mirror every day and I always say I am the sole responsible for my destiny, it's been always like that.

I need more of that, more self-accountability!

Clear & Simple

Here is the plan in it's more simplistic way.

  1. Get a writing assistant – Friday.
  2. SIte launch – Saturday & Sunday.
  3. SOP and content management done on-the-fly.

What I want to achieve:
  1. Test how Google reacts to that content.
  2. Get into the habit of working with WordPress.
  3. Get motivated from getting traffic & revenue.

Short term goal – get traffic and revenue.

Next – buy more premium resources like tools etc.

After – build a more proper businesses.

Goal: Have 3K USD per month of pure net profit!

Brother it feels like you're pushing yourself a lot, forcing workouts, then fasting at the same time. I can't tell if this is your typical day or you do it only from time to time to discipline yourself.

Anyway, I hope you can distance yourself from those pestering friends and get some nice peace and quiet :D

I don't like the concept of weekends either, actually holidays are too much too, sometimes. Taking a break from all the holidays for a full year... ahhhh.

Back to your plan. How many articles are you going to publish at launch?

Today is back friday and I am looking to buy the writing assistant. I think between publishing volume throw the tools that auto generated articles or go premium on the articles by heavily editing them and publish a small amount of content. I already have bad drafts, so I'll have to think about this one.

If you have not bought a writing assistant... maybe have a look at https://surgegraph.io/ their BF deal is live for another 10 hours... nice tool
Yep, that tool was one that on my radar, but I am worried that it's not that popular so at some point it may end being non-maintained.

I was initially looking for something for bulk generation, now my eyes are on something more premium so I can chaise quality rather than volume.

I've opened a spreadsheet and figured out several potential options, have to pick one-two of them. I'm still dwelling.

actually they have been here for ages now... Do you remember LSIgraph, its them only.... they renamed it.... actually it is quite popular....

Oh, I think I knew that, you just reminded me, thanks.

I am slightly overthinking between Frase & Surfer. I have Frase LTD, but I still need to pay for the addon to have ~30 something articles per month.

I also have ZimmWriter.

I still think weather or not to have something that spills articles a lot or something that will make me craft them and revise them to have top quality.

Day 12 - Day 18

OK, so I don't like rigid systems and it looks like I am showing this for sure.

Things are way clearer now, I decided on the tool and I am just purchasing the writing assistant.

The backlog that I had seems that may actually be helpful to be proceeded.

This Friday and the weekend I am locking for some deep work.

I know I might have stalled, it's always like that, but bad execution is better than no execution.

Day 19 – Thursday, Dec 5 2024

Honestly not much besides work, each night after my job I get home very late and I try to squeeze the minute. I already set my bookmarks and system stuff to be able to have a more frictionless environment.

Now that I have the tool I wrote down on a physical sheet of paper the minimum required for me to just start.

My initial idea or plan if you will was to start a junky AI bulk generated site, now that I have something premium, I will actually start in a more proper way.

Quality above quantity, so I'll focus on that.

The weekend will be with turned off phone and launching my site.

Today is Friday Dec 6, the 20th day, it's amazing how time passes.

It's friday and honestly I am very tired from work, but I'll do my best to wind down and shut off all distractions in order to properly rest.

Day 20
Friday Dec 6, Friday

I am still at home and I've did some very good bookmark optimization of my space related to the actualy work, it's the minimum viable necessary for the workflow of creating content.

Super happy about it.

Finally something that is not perfect, yet flexible to concentrate me on the most important task.

I have the steps that stuff that I have to use on a sheet of paper next to my keyboard.

I guess that is the "very good" solution.

I have successfully avoided perfectionism tendencies.

I WILL REVIVE MY BUSINESS!

Still not impressive at all. It seems like my OCD and ADHD tendencies are starting to kick in.

Day 21 and 22 - Weekend, December 7 and 8

# Core Business

– Chose the exact site I will start with.
– Got a writing assistant.
– Compiled a list of resources I will use on a continuous basis.
– Rearranged my bookmarks bar to display only essentials, hiding everything else under a simulated “hamburger menu.”

# Administrative

Despite my progress, I found myself back working on administrative tasks again. I started organizing, and the backlog now has three main parts.

Sorting: I managed to process everything from my notes, and there is a lot.
SOP: I need to clean up this mess in a spreadsheet and strip out the junk. There are some real gems buried here that could give me a competitive edge, and no, that is not just OCD talking.
Prompts: I need to organize these into a spreadsheet. However, I have noticed that I am starting to use prompting more naturally rather than copy-pasting everything. Because of this, I will probably focus on condensing the prompts instead.

On a positive note, I accomplished something critical. I created a spreadsheet with excellent budgeting, tracking what I spend and where it goes. I also set up a personal budgeting system and applied the same discipline to the business.

The template is simple yet powerful, with multiple sheets in a single file. It lays everything out clearly in one table, including balances, revenue, expenses, cash flow, and even net worth.

Some might ask why bother with a spreadsheet when you have not even started.

I will tell you why. These spreadsheets doubled and even tripled the income from my existing projects back in the day. There is a term for this in business schools, though I cannot recall it, but it is essentially operating by tracking and analyzing numbers in real time.

The idea is not just about discipline. It is about having a daily view of your financial state and cash flow. When you truly understand your numbers, you can make better calculated risks, push harder when necessary, and stay ahead while others hesitate.

Now it is Monday, and my work week has started. It has been raining nonstop here. I cannot afford taxis, and my shoes, bought for eight dollars, are literally falling apart. They are cheap and meant for summer, so it is miserable walking in them.

On top of that, I am in physical pain and need surgery, but I cannot afford it. If I spend money, it will go toward the business.

Here is the reality. I have made hundreds of thousands dollars a year before, yet I am okay with facing tough situations right now.

Really love reading your journey bro. I want to make some suggestions

- get an app like logseq or obsidian. clip your bookmarks as markdown text files into those softwares so you can have them on your computer and while offline

- forget the gym, get a standing desk and do squats while going through ''busy work'' like going through your bookmarks

- instead of seeing the whole forest of bookmarks, set a specific amount of bookmarks to be processed in a day 5/10/15 etc.

- i have never went to a gym, because I know that I'll often say '' fuck it, I am tired'' or ''fuck it, it's raining''

- i do pushups, squats, bridges, leg raises and pullups at home, every single day

I hope you can make money fast so you can get you surgery, peace bro

PS: get those fucking new shoes dude, the last thing you want is getting sick from the cold or wet in this winter time and reduced productivty

In my decade journey of being an entrepreneur I had tested all productivity software and now I just stick to the basics, second brain softwares are no go to me, as for my personal live I use my phone and nothing beats the simplicity of Apple Notes.

The bookmarks are significantly sorted, I think I'll end up doing them all as major progress was made. Btw it's not about the sorting, having these references help me learn and know way beyond just my narrowed field. We all know that we must pivot or get well-rounded out of SEO at some point, right?

I go to the gym as I don't want my home to be messy with equipement. I had the best standup desk both in my office and in my home, but I decided to create an actual home after my past relationship (not a gym or man cave), but last thing I want to have right now when I am tired from work is to be standing up.

I don't want to reveal much but I am a former successful entrepreneur, I just don't know how I even got here, but I'll recover.

It's a lesson that I want to share to others. This will be I think the best thing that I can give back to the community and a peace of legacy that I can share, as giving back was actually one of the primary goal that I did in my past.

It was never about money, it was always liberty and freedom, selfless and passionate!
