    TL;DR :: SKIP TO 75% OF PAGE

    Hello BHW :ranger:,

    A little bit about myself ::

    I'm 26 years old, moved home recently to help my mother since my father recently passed away from terminal cancer.
    I have no College Degree, however I have about 10 years experience working with computers.
    Recently, I had been laid off from a Managed Service Provider, which services and maintains computers, printers, and their networks.
    I started working there as an intern, moving up to a field technician, network administrator, service manager within the course of 3.5 years.

    My Experience ::

    I have Bulk Mailed (pre-2003) and had been very successful.
    If anyone remembers how easily SMTP, CGI and PHP mailers were back then. ;)
    Couple that with custom AOL client mailers and mass IM spammers and you were making an easy $1k/week.

    In 2008, I started my own web hosting company. I had obtained 5 customers over the years, without any effort put forth towards advertising.
    Just a few online friends that needed websites. I had been learning to design and modify websites over the years and have a decently amount of knowledge of CSS, HTML, and PHP.
    This was enough to cover my bills of the hosting, so I was happy with it and was focused on my IRL jobs over the years.

    My first IM attempt ::

    I started selling T-Shirts as an affiliate for DeezTeez, if anyone remembers them.. they provided affiliates a Javascript code to embed on your own website. I did so, but I had modified the CSS to remove a lot of the features that made it look more unique then many of the other affiliates. I created a myspace account, "hot girl going to college" profile with a custom theme, the T-Shirt being the background and the content was all in the body beneath the sleeves. To this day, I am still proud of it. I think I was way above my class. I started by manually adding people every day. I eventually scaled up and bought a Myspace messager and friend adder. I was creating custom banners and sales messages to send out. I was making about $25/week and started to look into Adwords, I ran a few campaigns.. just to test the waters. I read up on it very little, and was just targetting "Funny T-shirts" and other high competition keywords with very little CPC. I was getting traffic, but it really didn't increase my sales. I found out that myspace was actually giving me ******** links and over the course of 3 months, I had an insane amount of backlinks built up, through Adwords and Myspace. My sales went up to about $75/week. This was pretty good considering I was getting $6/Tshirt. Eventually, I had stopped doing anything with the site and the domain expired on me. I lost my $75/week autopilot income, but backordered the domain and eventually got it back. Shortly after, they stopped offering the affiliate program and my autopilot income stopped with it.

    My second IM attempt ::

    I was the site administrator for a local car club which had over 900+ members. My responsibilities were to maintain and modify the entire site and it's functionality.
    Which included setting up vBulletin and getting about 7-10 outdated plugins to work with existing version of vBulletin.
    Such as custom profile entries for car makes and models to user garages for members to update their profile.
    I tried to monetize this with adsense, over the course of 3 years, it was making me about $10-20/month.
    I hadn't tried to optimize the ads, just generic 720x banner on the top right and 320x on the right of first post of each thread.

    :cool:

    Thanks, I've been here for quite some time, but only started to become active as of recently.
    I really hope I can find some answers to my million dollar questions :)

    So, it's been a couple months, I've tried a few different things after not seeing results.
    I've chased quite a few shiny objects during the reinvestment stage, hoping to increase my understanding of Amazon's Associate Program.

    I have also tested the waters with selling on eBay and Amazon.
    At this point, I think eCommerce only be beneficial to me once I setup my own store and also include selling on eBay and Amazon at the same time. Otherwise, there is no point. Unless someone can prove to me otherwise :)

    I'm still stuck at content creation and SEO. I don't think writing is for me, although my grammar and spelling is above average for a US native.
    I could really use someone who is experienced to hold my hand.

    At this point, unemployment benefits will be exhausted in about 1 month. I have been claiming all the days that I have actually worked. I haven't been able to secure any offline job offers, so I'm pretty hopeless at this point.

    I could really use a mentor, anyone really that knows what they are talking about, it's really hard to get solid answers to any of my questions even after wading through all the BS.
    I would be really appreciative of anyone answering my call to help.

    Thanks, but I am not exactly new here, but I would appreciate it if you took the time to read any portion of my thread.

    I feel very scatterbrained with idea's and having a very hard time developing a plan of action.
    I will signup underneath you and put in the work required to succeed.

    I've been told from an early age that I am "Very intelligent but doesn't know how to apply himself"
    This still holds true to this day, just something that I still have not been able to overcome.
