I have told them but they think that im just a kid that doesnt know about real life. I have to find a way to convince them
Gosh, isnt that the truth. I put up with the same shit from my parents, even my 22 year old sibling tells me i dont have a clue about the real world... and im 17, only 5 years younger than her. But still absolutely love them. That mindset just gets me frustrated.
just ignore them and do your thing. Some older people are stupid like that.
True dat, i just ignore it and smirk to myself everytime they go into employee mindset mode. It goes quicker that way.

Its a waste time to even attempt to rationally discuss it, because it always turns into an arguement.
This thread suits to mindset of a person like me here
Amen.
Does she refuse to believe you can have a job and make money or something? lol. Glad your dad seems more sensible.
More like she doesnt believe that you can make money BESIDES using a job to do it.
wear 3-8 pairs of underwear so that he skips the mollestion part
:lmao:
That's actually funny.
When I first started out, my brothers and sisters didn't think I was being productive by "wasting" all my time on the computer.
Seeing is believing. Show them the green and the only questions they'll be asking is how they can get in on the action.
Same here. They always tell me im "wasting my life away on the computer". If they could only put aside their irrational, emotional part of their thinking and understand that im actually learning, except that the word "school" isnt pasted on the building im learning in (their home).
I can't wait to start making the moolah so they will finally stop complaining about it. They always use the bullshit line "once the money starts coming in, i'll listen to you. But until then you're going to go out and get a job like a normal teen" Um, hello? Normal teen? Thats what you want me to strive for? Nomal? Did Bill Gates make a sizeable amount of money the first day he opened microsoft? No, he started in his garage. They can't seem to figure out that uber sucessful people don't become uber successful over night.
Matter of fact, my mom just walked in and said "I hope youre not looking at anything bad" GIVE ME A BREAK. ENOUGH! she's been saying this to me almost everyday for the past week ever since she found a printout of a thread about ewhoring. LOL. Now she thinks Im going to ewhore for the rest of my life or something. I'm not even going to ewhore! it was just something i printed out when i was a total noob and wanted to learn what an "ewhore" was.
I regret the moment i hit the print button to print it out. lol
Just stay quiet about it, once you turn 18, you become your own person and there's nothing they can do to stop you. Just be thankful you learned about this at age 14. You've got a four year head start. Imagine how much you can learn in four years. That's how long it takes to get a bachelor's degree, so do the math - you can learn a TON of priceless information about IM in that amount of time.
