My mom hates the fact I make money online.

Every time I go to her house she hides the router. It's funny.

Your very lucky to have learned this stuff at 14, so ignore her and stick with it. It does sound like you may have presented it wrong, though.

When I first started out, my brothers and sisters didn't think I was being productive by "wasting" all my time on the computer. I now have two of them working for me doing work online. What turned them? When I first started getting the checks in the mail. I was making more than they were, call it jealousy, call it ambition, call it whatever the hell you want, all I know is they came over to MY place and asked what they could do to get paid like I was.

Seeing is believing. Show them the green and the only questions they'll be asking is how they can get in on the action.

You probably don't watch the news everyday but a couple months ago a serial killer was loose in NY...he was an affiliate manager at a CPA network. His victims were mostly boys and especially young ones.
The sad part is that he was having sex with them before cutting their throat.
Here are a couple of advices for you:
1) NEVER leave home without your mommy as serial killers are affraid of moms in general.
2) wear 3-8 pairs of underwear so that he skips the mollestion part

Anyway, I'm 17, but lucky to have supportive parents that understand that you CAN make money online, and working from home can be a real job. My own mother was a paid message board moderator for many years.

Sounds like my when I was 16 years old 4 years ago. Parents just about flipped on me saying I am just a kid and do not know a fine thing about earning money. Now look, still making money online more then ever. DO NOT let anyone get in your way. Adults are just stupid sometimes.

It's amazing how many people in the 'real world' are totally oblivious to how the internet operates.

HOWEVER, as a mother and grandmother, I'm certain that your mom just wants to protect you, which is by the way, her JOB. If you get some legitimate checks, and/or INCLUDE THEM in helping you to make choices as to what networks you work with, in time they'll have a better understanding of what you do, and how you make money. Often when people see you making good money, "out of thin air", they are curious, or suspicious.

Just take a few days and let them see the sites, (not this one) that you are working with. Include them, and I think you'll find they'll be much more cooperative in the future.

And, hey "richkid". There are a lot of smart OLD PEOPLE. What's old to you? TWELVE?

I mean really, what an immature, uneducated thing to say. Someone should wash your brain with soap, and well examine if there remains anything after doing so, lmao.

Yeah.. gotta love the "Money doesnt grow on trees" one. They say it like we don't know this after we've spent over 50 hours on the computer working our asses off to get a check.

Gosh, isnt that the truth. I put up with the same shit from my parents, even my 22 year old sibling tells me i dont have a clue about the real world... and im 17, only 5 years younger than her. But still absolutely love them. That mindset just gets me frustrated.

Same here. They always tell me im "wasting my life away on the computer". If they could only put aside their irrational, emotional part of their thinking and understand that im actually learning, except that the word "school" isnt pasted on the building im learning in (their home).

I can't wait to start making the moolah so they will finally stop complaining about it. They always use the bullshit line "once the money starts coming in, i'll listen to you. But until then you're going to go out and get a job like a normal teen" Um, hello? Normal teen? Thats what you want me to strive for? Nomal? Just stay quiet about it, once you turn 18, you become your own person and there's nothing they can do to stop you. Just be thankful you learned about this at age 14. You've got a four year head start. Imagine how much you can learn in four years. That's how long it takes to get a bachelor's degree, so do the math - you can learn a TON of priceless information about IM in that amount of time.

lol i first started out around 15 with linkshare. i was doing blackhat even back then (anyone remember SynRG on irc?) id be on the computer alllll day and mom would get on me asking me what i was doing. I just told her I was making $$$ and she was just like ok whatever, probably thinkin i was lookin at porn or somethin. she used to try and limit my online time until i showed her my first $300 check, then mysteriously i could leave the comp on all day even overnite sometimes and she wouldnt say a word

just show them youre serious about it by actually making some dough and i guarantee they will get off ur back. hell we are in a recession reprimand ur mom for frowning upon anything that has to do with making $$$

Just bring home the check and that will shut your parents up.
However, if I brought home a $3000 check, my parents will go psycho because they think I got that money illegally or something.

My parents were a bit skeptical when I began CPA.
Partly because I quit my job as well.
But then when I started earning 1000's they were fine with it

imo, that's a real dumb way to think...especially when you are 14 and are living at home w your parents.

if you have a good relationship and communication w your parents, then it should be fine...

it's better to be open about it in the beginning....then later when you're stuck in a legal or financial situation.

Seriously, I've had my fair share of trouble following me in the past, and I made the mistake of filling my father in on the minute details involved in Craigslist posting.. He looked ill after I told him, and I'll never forget that face. I quickly coated the story with icing to seem legit, but that first impression changed me.

My parents think what I am doing is hilarious. They laugh and congratulate me everytime a check comes and proudly hand it to me.

I am 20 btw.

As to the OP I admire you for taking action at such a young age. Tell them what's what. Don't let haters get you down. I can already tell you will be quite successfully.
