a friend of mine wants to make money like i do, but refuses to give his bank wiring details to amazon, or to give his personal info to paypal for that matter.......
similarly, my dad, who perfectly understands the world of boiler room and million dollar deals and what not.
gave me so much shit 3 years ago, when i used $100 to put "an ad on google"
he thought it was the dumbest shit ever and did understand how i can make money from promoting a product that wasnt even mine.
he's oldschool, this is what ide always hear:
"create a product/service/business and then make it successful, no commission bullshit, thats what car salesmen work for, do you want to be a car salesman son? how many cars can you sell a day? there's only a limited amount...
even a doctor, yes, you can make hundreds of thousands a year... but how many patients can you treat? how many triple bypass surgeries are you going to do a year? never go into anything with a cap.. be open to the million dollar opportunities!"
(the benefit of this speech, tho it was aimed at breaking me down, was that i never had the mindset where making millions per day was impossible.. he made sure i thought with abundance even when i was like 8 years old. and i have thanked him many times for it)
im not gonna sugarcoat it, i didnt make 1 red cent off that $100... and i didnt make money for a good while after that...
but when i finally did find successful campaigns... he actually gave me the time to explain the process and the level at which you can earn money on the internet, and now see's me as a next gen business man and treats me with respect.
in fact when i found my first real moneymaker campaign at like 17 (almost a year after i first dabbled with adwords btw) , and had no more money to put into the campaign, i presented the statistics/profitability/marketresearch/past performance/expected ROI to him/sold him on the idea..he got up and handed me 1k to put into the adspend.
my point is, your parents think you are a dumb 14 year old.... and u feel like an adult.
so, prove it, ask your dad for a meeting (approach him like a man) and pitch the whole concept to him, from the S&H payment, to the $80 fee they slam on your customer's ass. how you get paid.. show him the thread about the half a mil a day acai berry dude. take him to some blogs of well known cpa'ers..
