My New Kindle Adventure

You're quite right. Been reading through and thought I'd join in as it's become a bit of a free for all.
That said, I'll not update until the OP turns up and ok's it.
On another subject, congrats to you, OP and everyone else who's made sales thus far!

Or, post updates here until OP forbids it. I'm sure he won't though, ash1ey seems like a nice guy.

do you publish your ebook on Kindle for free ?
if you used ISBN . how much that will cost ?

Right! Ash1ey wouldn't mind us keeping this thread alive I'm sure too. I think the more people that get involved the better we all can be in the end. None of us are experts yet, so anything we can all contribute will help us all get better. BTW Book 4 going live tomorrow.

Book 1 - 20 reviews ---- 28 sales + 3 borrows - 1 refund

Book 2 - 15 reviews ---- 11 sales + 1 borrow

Book 3 - 4 reviews ---- 2 sales

Book 4 - Free Promo Days

Interesting journey! Seems Kindle can be a good source of income if you build up your
list of ebooks in the store. Has anyone thought of doing a backstory to Flappy Bird? LOL
I'm thinking if you can create an 'inside look of flappy bird' you can make some serious sales.

Anyways interesting read guys, keep it up!

Are you guys following any particular Kindle course?
Could you share how you assess what keywords to go for.

I want to get into this myself but I guess it makes a lot of difference about what keywords you target to get the books noticed.

Great thread and thanks to all contributions

I have been inspired by this and the other kindle threads - yes it takes time to set it all and it will be a bit time consuming but there is definitely money to be made. I know here in Oz the regular bookshops are all closing down so the ebook/kindle market is going to sky rocket.

I have downloaded a few books from kindle and really - the writing is atrocious - and I am not looking for Shakespeare levels of literacy...a 9 year child could do much better!

They key is reasonable quality writing (with correct grammar and spelling ideally).

I have a few books in mind which I shall be writing myself once I have set up the tax stuff with the USA....this decreases the tax rate for Aussies earning with Amazon and makes it more profitable.

I have purchased some interesting tools as well to help with research/niche keyword finding as this is the most time consuming part of "writing for profit" . I will put up a freebie thread soon to help others and to give something back to the members here.

Long live BHW!!!

All I can say is because this particular journey is 100% WHITEHAT, there is so much more grunt work involved. You have to do promotion, you have to interact with forums that can help with sales, and you have to deal with issues no one likes to discuss. You have leaders in niches that hate competition, and will send their minions to rate down your books and leave neg feedback in an effort to stay above you.

There are so many more variables I could not ever have imagined when I first started. This journey is not over for me but I can tell you honestly it's consuming my days more than I thought. 16 hours a day last week to just tread water, because of all the little things you MUST do in order to start making serious money. I'm dealing with feedback bombing, bans from groups, and other BS that are just part of the game I guess. No one wants to willingly give up their top spots in each niche, and when they see newbies climbing up they bring out the Black Hat techniques to cut us at the knees.

I'm fighting the good fight and will post when I can after I take over the top spot in a few niches.

The problem with this book is I don't actually have the original file to edit and make changes

When you edit the details of your book, under 'Downloadable Previewer' there is an option to 'Download Book Preview File.' Save the file.
This is a .mobi file, use Calibre (free program) to convert it to another format such as HTML. You could open that the HTML file in a browser and then copy and paste the text back into a word processor. Some word processors even open HTML documents.

Nice method, I am actually thinking about trying this out in a big scale. Anyone with more updates on the matter?

Best regards,
Axeny

Question if you know or have an idea please.

I can easily write a Kindle book and I'm sure it would have legitimate value but I would like to use it to promote something else... either some legal documents that I can sell, a service I could sell or perhaps some consulting.

Have you seen this done or is this just a little out there as to an idea?

Thanks!
