My neck kills me.

I'm not sure so much about my neck, but the root of my posture being my spine is in great shape, thanks to a few years back in hospital, I went to the gym everyday for 3 months, and stretched my legs over my head, while lying on my back on the floor, and moving to various rotating positions to stretch out my back properly, and my posture is good in my seat and I never have back problems.

Fix the posture.
Screen height should be slightly lower thanneye level. Sit straight like you have a straight spine not a broken spine. Eye to screen distance 2-4ft. Exercise each 2+- days - lower + above - neck. You'll feel the change.

Else

You can ignore the above as well. :)

Sit in a good posture. (or even better, get a standing desk)
Stand up for 30 seconds every 15 minutes.
Do daily over and backs + band pull aparts. (1 set of 20 quality repetitions on both exercises are plenty)
Drink enough water.

Please don't buy stuff such as a neck brace or a posture corrector. Apply my tips and you should see a lot of progress even within weeks.

Feel free to let me know if you need any more upper back strengthening exercises after a few weeks, I'll be happy to help you out.

Thank me later <3

Doctor gave me a neck brace, I'm using it now. But I'll definitely do what you say bro, thanks much.

Same here..

LOL! As funny as dramatic tho, I'm faaaar behind from 30. That life...

You guys spend much time in front of computer just like me, how are your necks?

Well, I think I fucked mine up.

I think I don't know how to sit. Been to doctor for a thousand time and no exercises or medicines worked.

I think I'll break it soon, cuz I can't take it anymore.

I want to take glider course but my doctor says they won't allow me because of my neck.

Any advices?

Can you go a bit more in depth? Is it pain? Is it a huge discomfort? You gotta be more specific about what you exactly feel and when, and how is it affecting you.

Personally I kinda suffer form neck issues aswell, since kid I've been on the pc and never had anything or anyone calling my attention for my posture, so now problems are arising. Big discomforts, you just want to neck and rip your neck, its not really pain, but bothers you the whole fucking day, its hugely tense, and you cannot ignore it. On very very bad days gives you headache aswell, and you cant really get better till the next day.

As someone said, I also sleep without pillow now, but I sleep on my stomach, which is not good, but can't really sleep in any other way. But I've done some research and stomach sleeping + pillow = huge burden for neck, makes neck staying with huge pressure for the whole night, you can also test this, put yourself in stomach, and feel your neck with and without pillow. Regardless you should sleep on your back, always.

Never found a doctor or massagist or anyone that really helped me with this. So I had to dig myself for a solution.
Current what has been helping me is a good chair (must have a headrest, if it doesn't dont even dare to buy it, you need it 100%), and putting my monitor way up, forcing me to rotate my head upwards instead of downwards (which is what me and probably you have been doing all these years)
With this setup I've been noticing huge improvements over time, and I've been way better than before. Used to have like a week straight of super tense and discomforted neck. Hasn't been happening anymore.

So for reference, if you want to put your monitor high up, I currently use "ErGear 13-35 inch-/12 kg-monitor holder" (and use it as high as you can), you can search and you will find it.
For chair search for ergonomic chair, and pick whatever you like the most. Tips: Make sure the one you has a movable headrest, for best positioning to fit your neck.
As @Zwielicht said, standing desk might be really good aswell, I never tried cuz it would be hard for me to setup on my office desk, but I heard its really good aswell, hopefully I will give a try on it in the future.

If anyone has also good recommendations I'm all hears. I'd love to hear what has worked/not worked from other's experiences.
Also does anyone know any specific massage type that works only on the neck area and its muscles, and works really well? I personally never found one, but would love to know if there is anything out there that actually is worth your money.

I need every advices even "Well done, you fucked your neck up, go kill urself". So thanks for 'em. Now I know I definitely should fix my posture.

Stand desk maybe

Yeah, you're right.

It pains like, umm, YOU CAN'T CARRY YOUR HEAD UP! Just like you said, It's a huge and huge discomfort and I really need to find a solution for this. I want to be a glider pilot, and I don't want to hear "fuck off" from doctors during the medical test.

I had a very little tablet-pc, and for the years, I looked at it wrong. The model is Lenovo MIIX-300 10-IBY, a really really small pc. Now I took it's screen and put it in a upper position. Bought some setup to control with bluetooth keyboard. I'm feeling better right now.

I need a bigger pc and a chair, but guess what's missing.

It's simple. Mobility/stretching routine is great solution. Only 15-30 minutes daily is enough for me.
You only need willingness.

A lot of members here suggests Yoga, fck tht, you need SEX, 7 days a week, does wonders for your body and mental health. Everything else is just bogus.

Make sure to get a chair that gets you at the same level of your desk so you don’t have to lean forward to work.
