My Mom Lost Her Job - HELP

Hi everyone,

My mom just got laid off, and I'm looking to find a startup I could create to help get her back on her feet. I am open to all ways of earning money. I am new on this forum, my friend recommended I turn to this forum for help and guidance. A little about me, I am a new appreneur and eBook creator and am releasing my first of each in the next month. I've put all of my money into those ventures so I don't have the funds to help her as we speak which is not fun.

She picked up an hourly wage job just above minimum wage quickly but it is a big drop from her 38k a year salary (which is still low to begin with). She has bad credit so that's not an option. I'm looking for something low to no start up cost that can generate an extra $500 per month (that is how much she is short this month for bills). That would be a good start.

I have no experience in affiliate marketing but I've been told that might be a good option.

Any advice would be greatly appreciated, and I look forward to contributing to this forum once I see some success with my startups.

Sucks bro, there are a lot of story's like this on BHW, but no one will spoon feed you no matter how sad the story is. All the knowledge you need is right in front of you, it really just takes time to go through it and figure out what you want to do.

Just stay in the Money Making section, it will probably be for months untill you figure out what you want to do. But it is all here..

You didn't speak much of your technical knowledge, and how well you know IM, but I'll assume you know the basics. I recommend picking something you're good at, and focusing on it. For me, it was website design. I've been able to build my website design company from the ground up, and you can too. With that said, seeing someone in such a drastic situation I wouldn't recommend IM to you at all. There are no guarantees in this business, and while success is here, it takes time, money, and knowledge to get there. All of which seem to be limited to you. Pick up a job at a local store and help out your family with that, and learn IM on the side. Always have something to fall back on in the event IM doesn't work out for you.

What are you good at?

Become better at it, offer it as a service on freelance sites; elance.com / freelancer.com / odesk.com / fiverr.com etc. etc.
