When I first started using Reddit to promote OF, it made sense to post on the biggest subs with millions of subscribers. At first glance, it seemed like the perfect way to get the most views, upvotes, and fans. But over time, I realized that this approach isn't always effective, and here's why:
Competition .
Subs with a million subscribers post 500 posts a day. It's hard to compete with that amount of content - even quality content can get lost in the crowd within hours, sometimes even minutes.My content just wasn't reaching my fans because the guys didn't need or care to scroll through their feed and find my posts.The result is wasted effort and minimal return.
Little subs
I decided to try subreddits with smaller audiences - 50k, 100k, 200k subscribers. Unexpectedly, it gave an immediate result.- Less competition, and with quality content your post lives in HOT for at least a day.- The audience is more active and involved - as if you came to visit old friends.

In small subs, a few ups at the start are enough for the post to start moving up. Plus, support for the post from your existing audience or a small boost (5-10 ups per hour) can help with this.And now I prefer small but active communities, instead of chasing millions of users who may not notice my post.
Conclusion
Focus not on the number of subscribers, but on the activity in the subreddits. Test different subreddits, track the results and draw conclusions. In large communities, your content may simply disappear in the flow of other publications, and in small ones, it will get a chance to shine.
