My journey to live without google

If you want to avoid google, that means you avoid the internet connection.

What do you have to lose by using google? You seem overtly paranoid over nothing.

Probably I will go back to google after a while.
I have read some articles about google actions that I really don't agree. I'm trying to see if I really need them.

ex: I don't go to a bullfighting because I don't agree what they do with the bull, I don't condemn who goes but I will never gonna support bullfighting

*calls google headquarters* sir, we have another rogue one, do you want me to neutralize him.

But in all seriousness, good luck with avoiding google. You will need it. Google is everywhere. For me I can't live withouth google, withouth google maps I would get lost everywhere, chrome is my standard browser because of it's simplicity and I watch youtube videos all the time. Google is slowly taking over my life.

You can't, they have their tentacles everywhere!

Please, stop being victim-co-perpetuators of this misconception. It simply is not true. Every service Google offers can either evaded, replaced, or accessed anonymously.

Yes, there are some services Google runs which some users cannot go without. You can use those services without them having the capability to identify you. VPNs and virtualization sandbox are your friend :)

There's really no use trying to quit Google
Is always good to try even if you fail
People also told me not to quit my job and dedicate to IM, it was a hard fight but now Im happy
Same here, I will learn more about other solutions and not just be blind and accept everything that big G gives, because it's everywhere

At the moment Im browsing just with FF, I'm very happy with it. Firebug is awesome maybe even better than the inspect element from chrome

Wow! Cool decision & I'd love to not be tracked by Google but...
Is it possible? Good luck.

What is a nice idea! But I also think it is hard to get. My life seems to be less of colour if I do not use google!!!

You can't operate online without using some kind of Google product, but you can minimize your interaction to the point where your activity can't be reliably tracked or predicted by Google. As in, don't develop any prolonged interaction like basing your main email, broswer, monetization or search engine searches off Google, Gmail, or Chrome, or Adsense. Don't use Analytics, as there are other ways to get your stats. Etc, etc.

I'm now testing the search engine duckduckgo, is the default search engine of iceweasel
At first glance seems ok

tough decision to live without google! think many of us tried already and failed ;)
I would really like to know, if there is a good alternative for google documents, I use it a lot because it s very handy for sharing documents and I like very much that different people can write the same time and everything gets saved... Anyone another solution?

That's almost impossible! From email to search engine. You can't get rid of it.

Small update, changed my internet browser to waterfox, is really good, and thinking in trying yandex, but not sure because of all the russian features seems that is great for russians

Yandex Browser is good for some uses, I use it for scraping content on FB due to Adguard and Download FB Album Mod being supported by the browser. Yandex Metrika is really good in fact I prefer it over google Analytics, but the draw back is that the only mobile apps for monitoring it on a phone are in Russian.

Waterfox is a great program I've been using it since oct on linux and on windows since nov.

I just cannot imagine my life without google so I would not even try to live without google. :-)

same here i hate google and their arogancy, they disaprove my adwords ads and suspend my site which i earn $400-$500/day from it, sucks

Kinda super late, but couldn't resist to ask if you actually went through with it OP?
Also, any updates to the list? :)
