Hah. That is entirely true. Hence the being at uni part. Plus I think it'll teach me the payoffs of hard work.

Well not yet as I haven't actually made the eBooks yet, but that was going to be my initial option for selling them, with landing pages and all that jazz. That and maybe Amazon.

outsourcing the research and writing would allow for a quicker time to market
allowing you to concentrate more on the sales aspect might be cheaper than you think try posting an ad for a writer on Craigslist Philippines some might do the work for a share of the sales or deferred payment.

However...
My advice to you is to NOT try to crank out 10 ebooks all at once, you won't end up getting anywhere trust me, you'll overwhelm and overload yourself especially since you plan on doing it by yourself.
Plus, what do you think is better, 10 crappy ebooks, or 1 great one? Not to doubt you since I don't know your experience but im assuming you may not be that good at copywriting either. So that's yet another obstacle to run into.
Good you're hyped up, but skilled people have a laser targeted mindset and work it up from there. Just shoot for 1 ebook and really do your keyword research for that niche, because in all honesty $1k per month isn't actually that difficult with your own products if you plan correctly, especially if you build a list from targeted traffic and offer them valuable content free upfront.

Great advice! Cheers fella. Like you said, I'm going to stick with the first eBook for now, spend like a month on it and go from there.
Okay so for the update...
I've decided on my niche for the first eBook. I'm looking to sell it on places like DP, WF and possibly here, as well as ClickBank and Amazon. When the eBook is nearing completion I'll start building up followers/mailing list and give out free advice to build up the hype. As well as put out a few videos to help with this.
I'm also going to offer extra parts with the eBook as this is something I can do quite readily. I'm toying with the idea of doing video tutorials as well, as I think this will help with bringing greater interest.
Today I'm going to thoroughly research everything that is in my head, and hopefully by the time I've finished I should have 2 pages of initial research. From these 2 pages I'll hopefully turn it into around 10-20 pages of substantial research which I can then easily turn into the eBook.
Also, I'm fully committed to this project and if anybody wanted to JV to guide me a long a bit and help me out (not money wise, like reading through the book and offering advice) then I'd happily offer you a percentage in return.

Update 18 April
I've written the two page initial research document, totalling nearly 1000 words already (about 2 pages).
My next plan is to turn this into another research document of around 10 - 20 pages so that from there it'll be easy enough to write the book, plus with padding of pictures etc I should hopefully come to my target of 100 pages.
Other than that I've got to collate and write the code for the extra stuff and then begin writing once this is all set up.

60k of words seems like a heavy e book, keep it pertinent and interact with the customer
offer great value add ons to boost the initial sale, a couple free at least, then you can upsell from there
do you have the profile to sell in the other forums? if not get a partner to do it that has the rep or you could be really wasting the time- obviously they would get a %
Finally get some good reviews before you get to market from people who matter on that forum

Having made the notes I think you're probably right about the 60k of words, but I just think that the content provided will be useful and it'll be interlaced with pictures etc, so maybe 50k is more apt.
As for the add ons I'm giving away a pretty hefty amount of extra stuff that the user will use for their own "thing" and will - I hope - provide a lot of extra value. It'll be basically everything the user needs to get everything up and running straight out of the box, as it were.
And yeah, I'm definitely thinking of doing a joint venture with somebody who has done a similar thing in the past, and who is reputable. Plus I think the advice and knowledge they'll give me in return will be more than worth it. In return for a percentage like you said.

I wrote my first ebook a while back and the hardest part I found was writing copy that sells.
Once you've finished writing your first ebook be prepared to spend a lot of time researching and testing your sales copy.
