My issues with linklicious. Am I wrong?

It sounds like both linklicious and the OP are in the wrong here.

You get one coupon per billing cycle but you don't get this month's coupon simply because you're being a dick and didn't apologize for ripping them off $0.10 (which is being a dick, OP, in case you didn't know).

All customers have a tendency to be a total douche. You have to honor your coupons with all customers, not just the nice ones.

No, thats where the problem is. Let me explain it this way. If I offer you a 99% off coupon, as a gift to our customers, that ends today and you buy a $100 item and right a check for $1 today and the check bounces...(for whatever reason, your fault banks fault or a mean little monkey that lives in your closets fault) if the check doesn't go through and you can't pay that $1 in time....then we don't have to honor it a week later when you finally clear up your financial issues. ESPECIALLY when you demand it.

Its not like we weren't going to give him NEXT months coupons anyway lol jesus, the balls on this guy. He could of tried getting LESS free links so he wouldn't of needed to pay the .10 or he could of tried nicely talking his way into an extra free coupon.

Or, if this customer just isn't worth the hassle (which clearly he isn't since he never intends to pay you a dime) just terminate his account for him on the grounds of the $0.10 charge back.

Thats what we did, we were incredibly respectful and apologizing for the confusion, we tried to explain to him what happened and then after demanding his free links and threatened to cancel, we nicely explained how to do so.

We handled him professionally, but here is open forum and HE created this thread and wants to publicly bash us and discuss it..so here I am, to discuss it..defend it and call him on his bullshit. :)

If it is customers that demand free things and behave like children, then its probably best. As the owners of this service, we have the benefit of choosing who we deal with, and if a customer stresses us out, we chose to not deal with them.

You are for the customers not the customers for you. They are the ppl who gave their money to you. The cutomer is always right. This is the base fact of any service. The provider who acting like you (yes, even if the customer is a totally noob for anything) not the right people to order from anything.

Dont place yourself abowe anyone especially not abowe a customer. If you dont want to do bussiness with someone there is a way to tell him in a PC way.

ps: just image..I am a restaurant owner and becouse you want extra ketchup for a pizza, and I think only an idiot order ketchup for a pizza, I kick you out from my restaurant just becouse I am benefit if noone asking extra ketchup and I dont want you to eat there.

As a service provider you can't choose who you deal with epecially if you have a public website with free registration.

I really don't understand your responses of insisting that I disputed the ten cents or saying I acted like a douche in e-mails? It is the total attack on me that has kept this thread alive. It may have never been replied to if you hadn't. Here is the entire content of the e-mails I sent. How is this being a douche?

Initial E-mail

Subject: RE: A gift from Linklicious to you - free links!

This code is not working for me. I notice it is the same as last month.

Response from Linklicious

Hi,

Your month starts from 19 and ends of 19th. so for this month you used it on 22 june. As per our terms you can use the code only once in between your transactions.
I hope this solves your problem.

My response

I did not use this on 22 June.

I used it on June 11
Order #: 6789976021 Order Date: 6/11/2011 7:23 PM
Total: $54.60 Completed Date: 6/11/2011 8:30 PM
Links Purchased: 1950 Delivery Time: 67 mins and 53 secs
Enhancement: Indexed Links Only

Accordign to your e-mail that you sent to me on July 3rd this code will expire in 2 weeks. So I think you need to re-look into this request as it makes no sense logically.

Their response

Hi,

The information you provided is correct.
Your order was completed on 22 as the complete payment was done on that day. So we count the transaction for this months as it comes between 19 to 19 for this month.
I am sorry for the confusion.

My response

My order was not completed on the 22nd as it was completed in 67 minutes and 53 seconds. Which is a lot less than 11 days from July 11th. You are making no sense at all. Here is your own completed date:

Completed Date: 6/11/2011 8:30 PM

Their response

Hi,

We did go through all the information regarding the transaction and payment processing and found out that when you did the payment on 11th then after that a 'dispute' was filed on this transaction, which applied a hold on this transaction. So finally it was resolved on 22 and the transaction was completed on 22.
So on our end, we got everything confirmed on 22 so we counted the coupon for 22 which count towards your coupon for this month.

Sorry for all this confusion.

THIS IS THE FIRST I HAD EVER HEARD OF A DISPUTE OF THE TEN CENTS

My response

I did not file a dispute on this transaction. It was free except for 10 cents. Why would I dispute ten cents?

I paid for service and am supposed to get $54.50 in credits towards onehourbacklinks.

5/19 linklicous payment b922fc2a

Coupon sent June 2nd and redeemed June 11th

6/19 Linklicous payment 7fc62053

Coupon sent July 3rd and is not working.

So if you consider the one used June 11th to be the one for June 19-July 19, then why send a coupon on July 3rd?

According to the e-mail

As a member of Linklicious we really value your subscription. We've seen the value of forcing Google to find our links in our SERPs and obviously you have too. Many of you have been through the initial growing pains of this service while others are helping us test our newer services that are yet to roll out. We know we couldn't be here without your continued support.

To say thanks we're giving you a single use discount coupon worth $54.50 of blog comment backlinks from OneHourBacklinks.com.* Just build your cart and enter the coupon code d326ea87-2bb8-472a-8aa5-e6f2414fff8d during checkout. This coupon code will only be valid for the next two weeks, so be sure to use it before then.

As a subscriber we plan on continuing to give you this free credit every month, so just be on the lookout a couple of weeks after your Linklicious payment is processed.

Apparently you don't value me very much if you are trying to take away your "gift" please let me know if this is your final decision.

Their response

Hi,

This is an automated mail sent to our customers. But your case was different as your code was shifted to this month due to transaction.
For the 'dispute' thing, that what our paypal account say so.

We value all the customers we have and you have already used the coupon so that doesn't mean we are taking away gifts.

Please find attached the screen shot for the payment from paypal.

My final response

I checked with paypal and they are the ones that initiated this dispute as they thought fraud was involved with a ten cent transaction to test an account.

I am extremely disappointed with your response to this issue as I was promised a $54.50 credit towards onehour backlinks every month. I paid for 2 months and received one credit instead of two and a bunch of excuses. So please cancel my subscription as I don't desire to spend any future money with you.

So how is this being a douche? I never threatened to cancel. I just cancelled.

Why do you state I am trying to get something for free? Your own site says "free links from one hour back links every month equal to the price of service.

You don't understand why I'm saying your complaining about free things that we offer as a gift and why we are annoyed at you demanding it and calling us illogical in your emails? We, are unarguably right to not have to honor the coupon because of the way it happen.. regardless of whether or not it was your fault or your financial institution you paid with. It was your attitude that stopped us from overriding that and choosing to give you a new coupon.

I have paid a total of $109.10 to linklicious and received a total of $54.60 in links. Yes there was 10 day wait for ten cents of that, but I am not demanding extra links or special treatment.

You chose the amount of links you wanted (Which was the maximum that you could buy, plus .10) and choose pay pal to handle your transaction. If you or the people you choose to handle your transactions screw up and cause you to miss out on the expiration date of the coupon...we don't OWE you anything (Not that we OWE you gifts to begin with...but especially when you miss the expiration date)

Now, can you come to us in a nice way and explain yourself and ask us nicely (hell, you don't even have to ask us nicely...maybe if you would of just ASKED and not demanded) yes, you could of easily gotten the links.

Before anyone could answer my question you called me a douche and said I was trying to rip you off. Your response here is off base in both the analogy and description of my e-mails and concerns.

Um..yeah...this was the last thing I read in THIS post, and it is right up with the way you were acting in the emails.

YOU: It appears like they will do anything to weasel out of a commitment. As a businessman this type of attitude is not a long term successful business plan.

I'm not a weasel and we GIVE away free links....why would we WEASEL out of it? WE ARE GIVING THEM AWAY.

ps: just image..I am a restaurant owner and becouse you want extra ketchup for a pizza, and I think only an idiot order ketchup for a pizza, I kick you out from my restaurant just becouse I am benefit if noone asking extra ketchup and I dont want you to eat there.

As a service provider you can't choose who you deal with epecially if you have a public website with free registration.

This would be more accurate, You are a restaurant owner and you tell the whole restaurant

YOU: "HEY, WE ARE GIVING AWAY LARGE PIZZA'S FOR $1...THANKS FOR BEING CUSTOMERS...but ONLY FOR TODAY"

and then I come up next week and say

ME: "HEY, YOU OWE ME A LARGE PIZZA, I tried to pull out a dollar and your ATM only did multiples of $20's so I couldn't get it...so now I got my dollar...give me my pizza."

And then you say...

YOU: Sorry, we can't do that..it was a special last week..sorry you couldn't get the cash in time we can't honor that today but we will be having a special next month

and then I get pissed and say

ME:"Your illogical, I had the dollar in the bank..its just that your ATM wouldn't give it to me...its not my fault its the ATM's....but you owe that pizza."

And then you politely say

YOU: "Sorry for the confusion, but thats not how it works feel free to come back next month when we run the special again."

so then you tell us you are never coming back again.

NOW....for your analogy...imagine bumping into this guy at a party OUTSIDE THE RESTAURANT and you hear him calling us weasels and talking to everyone about it...I have the right to talk about it causally then and explain that he was being a douche, period.

Your terminology is all wrong here. A gift is something that is freely given without being tied to a promotional campaign. You advertise $54.50 in links with the purchase of a membership. That is not a gift. That is part of the service purchased.

-noun
1. something given voluntarily without payment in return, as to show favor toward someone, honor an occasion, or make a gesture of assistance; present.
2. the act of giving.
3. something bestowed or acquired without any particular effort by the recipient or without its being earned:

I said you were illogical because you said the order was not complete until June 22. Because I had an e-mail from you saying it was complete on June 11th.

Your contention apparently is that these links are a gift. In order for them to be a gift, then they should not be advertised as this goes against the definition of a gift. I consider them an obligation of the service I bought as it was advertised.

I did not call you a weasel but used it as a verb:

-verb (used without object)
6.to evade an obligation, duty, or the like; renege (often followed by out ): That's one invitation I'd like to weasel out of.

Listen 3500amonth

We didn't call you a douche in the emails. You were being annoying by telling us we OWED you the free links and then when we tried to explain to you what happened..you called us illogical. (implying that we are stupid)

We stayed polite but that is enough for us to not want to over ride the problem and spend time creating a new coupon for you despite the fact we didn't have to because YOU failed to financially meet your end (Whether your fault or the financial institution you used)

I called you a douche HERE...when you called us weasels....if you don't get that..I don't know what else to tell you.

The initial e-mail sent was because the code e-mailed to me was not working in an order I was trying to place. So of course I was wanting the code to be fixed in my e-mails. Illogical does not equal stupid. Illogical means to act against logic and use emotion in your arguments. And I think this entire thread is an example of illogical behavior.

I never said that you had to give me the links, but I thought a good businessman should give the links. Stating that a ten cent shortage is against your terms is in my opinion using the weasel clause.

weasel clause (plural weasel clauses)
(informal) An escape clause; a clause in a legal contract permitting one of the parties to escape ("weasel out of") its obligations under some circumstances.

I posted this dilemma on here to see if my opinion was right and you emotionally acted and called me a douche.

You may have had the right to not give the links, but the discussion got away from that when you stated mistruths about me. Instead of cleaning up some spilt gasoline you through a match on it.

The only reason I have been replying is your attacks on me and not on my position. Apparently you did not understand the term "illogical" and went of on an emotional rant. Which kind of proved the point.

All I want is for you to agree that I did not dispute the charge and that my e-mails were not unreasonable. Or you can attack me again illogically.

First of all.... We explained EXACTLY what happened here.

US:

That should of explained EVERYTHING to you, and that we WEREN'T doing anything unethical and that we had nothing to do with what was going wrong.

Let me underline where you are being annoying.

I paid for service and am supposed to get $54.50 in credits towards onehourbacklinks.

Apparently you don't value me very much if you are trying to take away your "gift" please let me know if this is your final decision.

Thats not how you get your way. All we see is a .10 charge back from you that caused a dispute and for US to receive payment after the time frame allowed to use the coupon. Now, when we explained this to you...and it became obvious that we didn't do anything wrong....you could of took ownership of it being on your side (wether you or your financial institution) and said something like this...

"Man, I don't know what happened, It must of been pay pal, I wasn't trying to get out of paying .10 cents..I'm sorry for the confusion..is there anyway to over ride this so that I still get the coupon for both months or is it automated? If there is anything you can do I would appreciate it."

BAM....you would of got your links. But no, you decided to demand it because your "Supposed to get them" and then tell us "We don't value our customers" and that our explanations are "illogical" despite being 100% logical. You can look up definitions and argue semantics all you want...but whether you realize it or not...there is a tone and implications your making that are not appreciated especially when your asking for things.

You can google "gift" and look up "Weasel" all you....I don't care..its how you use them that matters...If I flip you off, you know what I"m saying...it doesn't matter if I look it up and say..."No bro, I wasn't saying "Fuck you" I was just showing you my finger, more commonly called "digitus tertius"...look it up on wikipedia."

When you wanna man up, and humble down....let me know.

the guy is paying you $50 a month
and your worried about 10 cents ??

speaking for me personally - I don't know why you guys don't send the coupons automatically - every month I gotta email you to get one.

I am only on the $14.50 a month plan - so I guess my business is worth even less than this guys ... on a positive note - at least I pay the 50 cents extra.

1. We weren't "Worried about the .10" Its automated. IF YOU chargeback .10 cents....or YOUR financial institution does....it throws a monkey wrench in everything that is out of our hands and we have to manually go in and fix it. (When we are super busy doing other stuff) He needs to be yelling and demanding things from PAYPAL...not us. He needs to be EXPLAINING to us what happened and then ASKING us if we can help him. (That is IF you believe the paypal story to begin with)

Barking at us, telling us we don't know what we are talking about, demanding things or calling us weasels isn't going make us want to quit the millions of other things we are doing to come help someone. You don't PAY for this gift, we can cancel this anytime..its something we do to be nice. Just like when I randomly pick people supporting us and offer them free links. I don't have to do that, and they are already customers so I dont get anything back from it...its just a GIFT.

2. We ARE making the coupons automatic and, if I'm not mistaken, will be on your dashboard sometime this week. :)

3. That is a positive note just don't try and charge it back ;)

I was thinking of integrating linklicious as I provide SEO services and apps to a lot of people. However from this thread it is clearly run by 14-18 year olds that resort to name calling, of clients no less, in public; scratch that one from the to-do list.

We used LOGIC, in the email..something you failed to understand. We explained EXACTLY why the coupon did work. It was a logical sequence of events that started with problems on YOUR SIDE.

When we are sitting here, (Busy btw) and we get an email from a guy asking for a coupon....and we look it up, and we see that our payment came in on the 22nd...thats all we can go by.

When you explain it was on the 11th then we research it...and find out it was because you charged back .10 cents. (Which looks really douchey btw) and then explain it to you...and then you call us illogical and tell us we owe it to you....you are digging yourself in a hole.

You didn't even tell us it was Paypal at the time....in our heads..its still you doing something retarded like charging it back, which caused a problem in our system that makes us stop doing important work, to email you back and forth, research the problem, and then try and fix it.

Now, when you finally decide to listen to us that it was on YOUR SIDE, and then you research it and find out it was paypal (Your financial institution) instead of saying..."Hey man, sorry, I figured it out..it was paypals fault...here is what happened....is there anything you can do about it?" (Which would of been a yes, and we would of happily fixed it for you)

You decided to keep on with the same "its not me, its you" attitude that got you where you are today.

I never said that you had to give me the links, but I thought a good businessman should give the links. Stating that a ten cent shortage is against your terms is in my opinion using the weasel clause.

Its not a weasel clause, its you throwing a monkey wrench in the automated machine and then demanding us to dig it out. I could honestly give two craps doing a flying nose dive off of a butthole about giving away links. Thats why we give them away for free. Use YOUR LOGIC and not YOUR emotion and tell me why would I try so hard to not give you links, when I give them out to a large amount of customers for free already.

Do you think McDonalds cares if a customer takes home an extra straw? NO! They give them away for free. Use YOUR logic instead of acting emotional and thinking we were trying to rip you off of "your" free links.

weasel clause (plural weasel clauses)
(informal) An escape clause; a clause in a legal contract permitting one of the parties to escape ("weasel out of") its obligations under some circumstances.

We are in a legal contract huh, I must of been out of the office that day? Do you sign legal contracts at christmas too for all your other gifts?

I posted this dilemma on here to see if my opinion was right and you emotionally acted and called me a douche.
In response to being called a weasel. Weasels weasel out of things and if you say we are trying to weasel out of something...you are saying something about our character...period.

And I think a douche bag calls someone giving him a gift, a weasel, when its HIM that screwed up receiving the gift...especially when he has another gift on its way. (Not to mention the right attitude could of fixed your problem)

You may have had the right to not give the links, but the discussion got away from that when you stated mistruths about me. Instead of cleaning up some spilt gasoline you through a match on it.

No, you spilt the gasoline when you/your financial institute charged back .10 cents. Instead of saying "Whooops, sorry" and asking our help to clean it up..you threw a match on it by talking and acting the way you did, especially CREATING a thread like this. I'm just dancing on the fire brother.

The only reason I have been replying is your attacks on me and not on my position. Apparently you did not understand the term "illogical" and went of on an emotional rant. Which kind of proved the point.

No, you keep building strawmen arguments and then attacking them. We've explained ourselves 10 times in the email and you are being obtuse. When you created this thread and commented on our character...you made it personal. You need to look in the mirror because its you who has been emotional from the start...we have answered based on facts and technicalities up until this thread.

All I want is for you to agree that I did not dispute the charge and that my e-mails were not unreasonable. Or you can attack me again illogically.

You or YOUR financial institute DID...thats a fact.
Here is the proof

thisguy.png

Now if you want to admit that it WAS either you or who you decided to pay with that caused the problem, apologize for attacking our character and then ASK us if we can work it out with you.....even after all this... I will still give you the 54.50 in links.

But until you "GET IT", you won't be getting it.

Yeah, we definitely didn't give you free links. You were being a total douche. We have no problem giving away coupons or fixing problems..but if your going to be a dick about it...especially when you charged back $.10 then yeah, your probably not going to get far. Try apologizing for charging back the $.10 instead of demanding free links.

You paid on 6/11 and had paypal charge back $.10 (yes, 10 cents!). That chargeback was reversed on 6/22. Not sure why you are blaming paypal or saying it is our problem ? we were clearly unpaid (stolen from?) on the 22nd.
We clearly state that the code can be used once and that it's good until your account is rebilled.
In the future, you should probably not charge back $.10 if there is $54.50 in free links on the line. Not sure why you did it, but it is what it is. (See attached screenshot for proof) Blaming it on Paypal or saying it's bad customer service is silly. As you can see throughout many threads here, we're all about doing the right thing.

Geez

I feel like I am back in College again - listening to a lecture.

Honestly can't you guys just calm down and figure something out -- it really makes you look like a brat.

Hey - you mention paying with Paypal ??

I can only seem to enter credit card info in linklicious ??

And - No SSL ???

You want me to put my credit card details onto your server - hmm not sure

You don't use SSL - No WAY !!

I was thinking of integrating linklicious as I provide SEO services and apps to a lot of people. However from this thread it is clearly run by 14-18 year olds that resort to name calling, of clients no less, in public; scratch that one from the to-do list.

Same here, you have to treat your customers with respect, especially when your service isn't the best like before :)

I don't get how anybody is agreeing with this fucking moron...

The customer is not ALWAYS right. They teach you that 'Customer is always right' bullshit when you're working low end retail shit jobs. In the real world outside of Footlocker customer service cashier clerks, you learn how to handle each situation differently. One of which is dealing with a rather immature piece of shit customer. Look at his 'Poor little me' tone throughout this entire thread, sharing his sob story to a black hat SEO forum in hopes to get attention.

I use my coupon code every month, on time, and I don't pay any extra money... nor have I once EVER had a problem with it. If anything, the customer in this situation was trying to weasel his way into free links.

Linkalicious is completely in the right here, not only for the fact that they offer the coupon code as GIFT to being a customer, but they've handled this situation better then I think most businesses would have.
