For a long time, I had been thinking about starting something in online business. However, I couldn’t come up with a solid plan or direction. That’s when I discovered Google Merchant Center. It seemed like the perfect platform for me.

At first, I thought it would be easy. Being a complete beginner, I assumed all I needed was to create a website for my products, upload them to Merchant Center, and everything would work smoothly. But as soon as I started working on it, I realized it was far from simple.

The first challenge began when I started building my website. I needed a platform that was easy to use and fit within my budget. After some research, I settled on Shopify. I built the site and started uploading product images and descriptions. However, the real shock came when I submitted my account to Google Merchant Center—my account was rejected due to “Misrepresentation” policy violations.

Although it was disheartening, I didn’t give up. I did extensive research, read through forums, and figured out my mistakes. My website’s policy pages were incomplete, customer support information was missing, and there were inconsistencies in the product descriptions. Fixing these issues took me several days.

This period was crucial for learning. I realized that Google Merchant Center is not just a platform to upload products—it’s a way for Google to ensure customers see trustworthy and reliable businesses.

In the next part, I’ll share how I resubmitted my account for review and what I experienced during that process.

If you’re reading this, what’s your experience with Google Merchant Center? Have you faced similar challenges, or do you have any stories to share? Feel free to share your journey—it would be great for all of us to learn from each other’s experiences!

I agree, it is very difficult to get approved on Google Merchant Center nowadays. I have 5 websites that haven't been able to fix the misrepresentation issue.

Bro it's not that hard

First the About us page has to be impecable.

Use a fake name, fake address, fake everything but it has to be there. It has to look like a legit owned business.

They also look for the VAT, Business ID, LLC CID etc type of information. That should be there as well. Learn to get it for cheap or copy it from somewhere else.

In case you still have issues talk to someone on Fiverr to help you with this. They usually know exactly what to look for when submitting your website to Google Merchant
