I have recently noticed that one of my PBN domains was ranking for a few big kws in my niche so I decided to take it out of my network and make it a 100% money site.

After uploading a few articles and getting them ranked on the first page I remembered that I had not setup a SSL for the site.

I set one up added a plugin to redirect all pages to the https versions and submitted the https version of the domain to google search console.

It has been a few days now, and most of my rankings have gone down a few pages. The only pages that are still ranking are the old http versions that google still has indexed.

Is this normal? Will the rankings come back after google has recrawled the backlinks? Should I have done something extra?

Like I said, this is my first time switching a site to https so this could be a common thing. But I thought I would check with you guys first before deciding to panic lol

Rankings will usually come back once Google has had a chance to recrawl your site. However, unless you're a commerce store, it may not have been worthwhile to switch to https given all of the links are to http. Give it a couple of weeks and see what happens.

Never found any exclusive changes after switching to https so you should be fine.
Just make sure every redirect is proper.

Even i believe that rankings will come back once google indexes and recrawls your new https pages. So as far as I know, this is normal.

Are you sure SSL is installed correctly on all pages?

Do a "submit url" to google.

Open /sitemap.xml of your site and do a bulk ping to all your url's.

Google this to find the tools

"mass ping url"
"bulk ping url"
"ping farm"

Did you change the internal links(in content) to https?

Easy way to check is search: site:yourwebsite.com and see if any HTTP page indexed.
