My first request to guest post (Newbire question)

A great way to grow backlinks is to reach out to high-authority domains whiten your niche and request a guest post. I made a small "mailing-list" and reached out, this is one of the first replies I got. To be frank, I sort of expected a procedure to be outlined. In the mail I sent, I asked if their platform (which is primarily a shop), allows for guest posts. Now I find myself a bit unsure what to reply.

I assume the end goal is me being linked to, but I'm unsure how it would be perceived in my niche if I stated that outright. Can someone help understand the rules of the game, before I reply?

The reason you got this reply is because you were unclear with what you want when you sent your initial mail. Next time be explicit with what you want. Ask them how much it'll cost to have your post go live with your link.
This is assuming you want paid links, most people don't do free links anyway.

In this case, tell this person that you want them to link to you through a post you would create/write. Then ask then what it'll cost. Do the bargaining.
