so currently ive sent my PBN in for indexing and i have created my first welcome blog, i am going to leave it a couple of days untill i start linking my money site, meanwhile what would be some good ideas to do while waiting?
Did you say you registered 1 domain? As in just 1?
Personally I wouldn't bother linking out for months. What I do is register the domain. I try to get 3-5 articles done to start with. I don't focus on much else then I go find another domain to register. I do the same thing. Then register another domain.
Then after a few days I go back to domain 1. I give it a logo, graphics, form, I basically commercialize & brand the site so it looks like a real business. Then I do graphics on site 2. Site 3, etc.
During this process I use Dragon Naturally Speaking to quickly transcribe quality content. And I format the hell out of my PBN posts. Proper headers, bullets or numbers, bold, italics, good spacing, drop images in, etc. I slowly build each site up with around 10 high quality posts as I continue to slowly add more sites. Then once I get to sites 10, 11, 12, etc.... by now I'm pretty slowly adding content to my oldest sites. Every site is different but sites with more/better links I generally shoot for 20-30+ posts.
After about 4 months (minimum) I'll start dropping links. And my first link never goes to my target site. I typically link to a noncompetitor who's on page 2-3 of G. I document their rank for w/e anchor text I used. And I'll wait another month or 2 as I just monitor their ranks.
After this incubation and test period are over.... THEN I start linking to my money site.
Otherwise if you just register sites, set them up and link out ime it's harder to judge the power of a site. Like you can drop a link today from a newly registered domain then not do any more links to your target site. And slowly over the course of many months as the PBN site gets older you'll see your money site slowly crawl up the SERPS. You might still see the site moving 6 months after you drop a link. It's so slow it's hard to measure the impact with new sites. With slightly aged domains the ranking effect is more prominent and obvious. Like typically in 2 weeks - 2 months I'll see most of my movement. Then rankings stabilize after 2-3 months. It just makes the whole process smoother and I feel like I get more bang for my buck by aging domains.
I know a lot of guys just register domains and throw up links but I'd never be able to evaluate the strength of a domain doing that. With my aged domains I can tell better which sites pack the most punch. I should also note that my money sites are pretty old. Between 2-4 years. They ranked ok before I built my PBN. But they're killing it right now and I like to know that all the work, links, everything was done slow and natural as possible.
Also, as I was building my PBN just because I was waiting I had time to work on other stuff. And before I started my PBN I had manually registered and built a bunch of thin, but HQ web2.0. Like the content was great they just didn't have a lot of it. So I worked on those too. I used a lot of exact and partial match names when registering them. I did the content just as good as my PBN which took longer cause my web2.0 network is about twice as big. As they aged I'd drop a few links from my own PBN. Then I ordered small batches of PBN posts from here and spread them out. A few GSA links just to diversify.
So now I have 2 networks that are bigger than I can use. It's a great feeling as all those unused sites are just aging like wine. The sites I am using still have really low OBL. I don't think I've even used 30% of what my networks capable of. So if you can afford it, it's great to have more sites than you currently need. Simply for the age factor. That way I'm not dropping a bunch of brand new links from brand new domains. Some sites are 14 months old, others are 9 months, 6 months, etc. Rankings are stable. They don't dance around. The sites perform extremely well.
TLDR: If all you have right now is 1 domain you need to get at least 9 more, develop them, then don't touch them and add another 10 sites. I see too many guys on here who register brand new domains, link out, then come on here bitching about ranking. Saying how their PBN doesn't work cause they're stupid, impatient & have no idea how to build something worth investing in long term that will pay back 1000 fold if you simply do it right from the start.
ps. I know this violates basic PBN principals, but I WILL outlink on certain PBN sites to the same money site 10-15+ times from different pages over a period of time. Other sites I may outlink to the same site once, sometimes 4-5 times. It's random. But the reason I do this is cause in the real world sites naturally link out to other sites they like more than once. I also know plenty of sites using PBNs who do this. Their sites have been ranking for years and years and it also looks more natural when done right.
the backlinks are natural around 3 BL's and I've checked the time machine and it looks like an old company gone bust to be honest so its as clean as it gets i think
