Hi

I got slapped by Google for the first time, for a reason that escapes me. I bought a domain and after I posted 2 articles, I started to promote one article on a new blog farm that I have created a couple of days earlier, all of them had 8 articles on them with no external links. After this the article showed in the search result but after an hour it diapered, after 2 days of commenting the page doesn't show in the Google search, but the page shows if I search the page url. What is going on?

The slap in gone and the page is ranking 12 with one link, this is weird because it outranks another page that has dozens on links

give it time...every new website bounces around its normal

That's not considered a slap... that's considered being Sandboxed

The Slap has to do with PPC/AdWords

Actually your both wrong, the OP it talking about google dance. No idea what your talking about sre94.

Yeah, you should expect it to bounce around in Google.

In my experience, some sites get to first page very quickly, and then fall off 2-5 pages back. And then slowly creep it's way back to the first or second page without doing anything to it.

waiting for something new i.e., g00gle "slap", "sandbox", and "dance"........"ALL IN ONE THREAD"
really needed a laugh....lol :D
by the way, there is nothing wrong there at all. keep building the link (social bookmarking, forum posting, classifieds and so forth) and you'll be where you should be (but do it slowly; u know why)...
for further information, dont hestitate to ask.:)
take care

"underworld" how about the hot shoe shuffle LOL The scenario described seems to happen to all my sites when I first upload them. First or second page for keywords then a drop, a big drop that is and then, with continueing linkbuilding, a return to say the 4th or 5th page. Very normal the google "hot shoe shuffle":D

I sometimes wonder if it not Google.. quickly sending a site (or article) up the SERPs.. just to through you off you game. Thinking.. "okay, I made it, now I can relax". Truth is.. once a page or site gets on the first page.. that is when you really need to work to keep it there. So don't stop building and realize your just in the same game we all are.. so welcome to the world of IM

As showbizvet says DON'T stop building backlinks, it is possible if you do you w'ont return up the rankings as quick as you want. If you stabalize around the 15th page rather than 5th it will obviously take longer to move up the rankings. The thinking is this is why google boosts new sites then sits back.
