My first ever IM journey. Amazon Affiliate Site to $1000/month

Hey mate, nice journey. I've just started my affiliate website with amazon. But, I have a problem I don't know how to get a specific image from a product, I use the sitestripe but it takes only the main image which I don't like. How can I do this ??

I struggled with the same and I don' think there's a way around this to be honest.

Guys, something weird happened.

I've had my Adblock installed for years and never had an issue but I just refreshed my site after adding a new article and all the SiteStripe images/links in the comparison table as well as product boxes are gone.

And the Adblock shows that it has blocked 20 ads on the site. WTF? Has anyone experienced something similar today?

Follow up on this one.

<a href="https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/X...6166d4e61b60d9b3af0dae636a735a&language=en_US" target="_blank"><img border="0" src="//ws-na.amazon-adsystem.com/widgets/q?_encoding=UTF8&ASIN=B07TF9ZRJ8&Format=_SL250_&ID=AsinImage&MarketPlace=US&ServiceVersion=20070822&WS=1&tag=XXXXX-20&language=en_US" ></a>

This is the SiteStripe HTML code and the part in bold seems to be the problem as Adblock now has amazon-adsystem on the blocked ad list.

Considering the fact that many people use Adblock, I risk increased BR and lower conversion rates here.

The question is: is there any other way to grab the image from Amazon product page that's ethical and in accordance with their rules? Their Wordpress link builder is not available anymore. I know how to grab the URL of the product image but can I just paste it in my code instead?

Yo,

Good luck with your site.
How does your site look?
Just a standard theme?

If I visit a site and it is ugly I 100% wont click on any ref licks, but that could be just me.
I would advise you to contact amazon and make pressure If they arent answering your disputes.

May I ask in wich country you live?

Considering current reduction in affiliate commission, did you switch to any other platform?

It looks clean and definitely not worse than most of my competitors. I'm using Astra theme.

My niche hasn't been affected.

But due to the recent commission trend, I think this will be my only AAS.

I'm pretty sure you can.

Seems like a little common situstion, i lost my job last month, i am currently suffering from eye infection and i am also pissed by the amazon and google. I hope the future is bright

Did you sort out how to get the product images?
Are you downloading the images and saving them now?

Nope man, I'm using the SiteStripe html code.

Don't think downloading and uploading is allowed.

/MAY-SUMMARY-UPDATE/ :)

Hello BHW,

The month of May is coming to a close so I think it's a good time to post an update on my journey.

May has definitely been much brighter than April, and there are few reasons for it.

/SALES/

First of all, I have met my "first 3 sales" goal. In the second half of the month, I've had 5 sales in total and I'm waiting on Amazon to review my site again. I believe that this time everything is on point ;)

/TRAFFIC/

Second of all, I have exceeded my traffic expectations.

The goal was to get between 300-350 unique, organic search visitors. I'm glad to say I have surpassed 400 users already and we still have a full day to go. As you can see below, the month-to-month growth has reached over 100% which is great.

I've also managed to reduce the BR a bit, and I'm still testing different stuff on how to get it further down for more pages.

The week-to-week growth I've been monitoring also looks promising...

The promising traffic graphs will have a lot to do with the fact that in the last week or two, I've been seeing some positive SERP movements as well (particularly last 7 days). Currently, I have 2 keywords ranking at #1, one at #3 and few others near and about the top 3 positions. I'm still waiting on a few articles to break into the top 100 which I'm sure will happen soon...

/WRITING/

Content-wise
, I have failed to reach my number of words written this month (and thus the number of articles added) but it's still been my most productive month when it comes to writing ever.

After having a very productive start to the month, I then fell off the track a bit but the last few days have been good again. I guess I'm still learning how to keep the momentum going on my own, without anyone pushing me to do it (the way it was in my day job which I still had last month).

In total, I have written approx. 20k words and added 6 articles. Although I wanted more, I'm still quite happy with the fact that my productivity this month has been the best yet.

/LINK-BUILDING/

When it comes to link acquiring
, I managed to get the 2 do-follow links I planned to. Both were free - one was my mum's business site and the other was a social bookmark link. Both URLs have relatively good DA & DR. I guess it's okay to get these 2 freebies for a new site.

/MAY-GOALS-SUMMARY/

Number of new articles to be added: 8-10 / Result: 6 - 2 short
Total words to be written: 30k-40k / Result: ~20k - 10k short
Total do-follow links to be acquired: 2-3 / Result: 2 - GOAL REACHED
Organic users in May: 300-350 / 7 so far / Result: 400+ - GOAL SURPASSED
Total sales to be made: 3 / Result: 5 - GOAL SURPASSED

Apart from regular monthly goals, I'm adding a few new ones.

Assuming that I finally get accepted by Amazon, I think it's high time for me to set the sales goal for the first time.

Also, I'm changing my approach to writing/planning for monthly articles. To keep my schedule more organized, I will spend the first 2-3 days of the month preparing a calendar of all articles that need to be added in June, with the exact deadline, guidelines and references for each. I think this will help me stay on track and up my productivity.

June will also be the month in which I want to improve the look of my homepage. So far it's been just a regular wall with posts and links in the sidebar. I want it to look more professional and appealing. I will use Elementor (free) and some additional plugins to make it look like a proper HP.

Last but not least, I will be trying to improve the speed of my site. I've been using Autoptimize for the last few months and was happy with it until recently. I was checking the page speed load time for all pages this month and it seems Autoptimize is slowing it down (especially on mobile). I will do some A-B tests with other free plugins to find the winning formula.

/JUNE-GOALS/

Number of new articles to be added: 8-10
Total words to be written: 30k-35k
Total do-follow links to be acquired: 2-3
Organic users in June: 650-700
Total sales to be made: >10
Total revenue to be earned: >$20
Additional goals: articles calendar, homepage improvement, page speed load time improvement

Have a good day all! ;)
