    Hi members of the Blackhatworld,

so after reading on this forum for over 2 years, and trying numerous methods of making online money, i have started taking matters into my own hands. When i first came across Amazon niche sites, i was very much interested. They seem to be exactly how i think about internet marketing: Very flexible, easy to scale, don't need TOO much webdesign knowledge, and there is alot of information flooding around on the internet about them. But since Amazon is not really big in my country ( i am from The Netherlands ) i have chosen an other affiliate network, which is big in The Netherlands. I put all my so far gained knowledge together and started to take some serious action!

    A little about myself:
I am 22 year old student living in The Netherlands. I'm almost graduating college and i have always been interested in Making money Online. At first, i have always looked for easy tricks and such. I did had some succes with a few video's and other tricks. But i have never earned big money for a long time period. And i want to change this. I am studying Small Business & Retail Management, it's an education where you learn everything to start your own business. For me this is, the internet business. I have never ever created a website or something like that, so i am learning this on the way. I am a good learning, and i seem to quickly understand how to things work. And i also value the opinions from others regarding a subject, so i can learn how they do it.

What i have done so far:
Since Amazon is not really selling products in my country, and i want to start my first niche website in my native language, i started looking for the biggest Ecommerce website who work with an affiliate network. And ofcourse i have found one, they are actually pretty similar to Amazon but in Dutch. You can see Amazon is their example, and they are doing the same things Amazon does.

    Niche research & Keyword research
From there on, i tried to find a niche and i did Keyword research with Long Tail Pro. I read all about it on this blog Nichesiteproject ( not allowed to put link ) on how to find keywords with a good volume of Monthly Searches and with low competition. The advantage of creating a niche website in Dutch is that there is much fewer competition in comparison to the US. At last i found a niche which has a lot of products in a nice price range from 80 Euro - 400 Euro. The niche has also a few subniches, which i could also target with my keywords. Like US niche websites i used keywords like: Best ''product'' and ''product'' reviews. My main keyword has like 4400 MS and has 22 competition rate according to LTP.

    Domain & Hosting
So i have bought this domain with my main keyword in it. And i still had a 1 year hosting package which cost me like 20 euros a year from a landingpage website i had created. ( i created this landingpage with an email list, did have some succes with it, but nothing long term ). So i installed wordpress and looked for a premium theme. I had a little money to invest and i wanted my website to have a good look. So i came across this theme called ''Ultimate Azon Theme'' and i thought it was exactly what i needed. It has a very nice feature to create this Comparison tables and the whole Theme is pretty easy to setup. Perfect for someone who has never created a website.

    Content
If you are reviewing products, you have to know the difference between a good product and a bad product. I started reading on all kinds of website regarding my niche. I read reviews of others how they experienced products in my niche, and what could have been better. After i gained knowledge about my niche, i started writing. I created this Pilar article on my homepage with 5000 words, it has an introduction followed by this good looking comparison table. I mainly focused on my main keyword. In the main article i also write about my subniches and for every subniche i have 1 product review of which i think is the best product in that subniche. At the bottom of the article i wrote what to look for if you are searching for the best ''my niche'' and also some general information about the latest laws & rules regarding my niche in Europe.

After that i wrote 8 single product reviews, not really targeting one of my keywords. Just some good information about the pro's and con's of the product. I am planning to rank my Pilar article on first page in the Google before i create another Pilar article, so i will be focussed on one thing at a time.

    Linkbuilding
This is where i am right now. I have installed Google Webmaster Tool and i am ranking 40-70 position for my keywords. To give this a boost i am going to trying to build some backlinks. I have not yet made my mind how to do this, i read a lot about creating a PBN. I have read information about buying old domains and set them up without leaving any footprints. But here on BHW people also talk a lot about GSA SER and how amazing it is. I have not yet made my mind, how i can build links to my niche website. I was hoping someone could point me in the right direction, keep in mind my niche website is in Dutch.

    --------------------------------------------

    Why i started this thread?
Well, i have been saying to myself whenever i create my first serious website, i have to create a journey on BHW. Why? Because i have read a lot of my Journey Threads on BHW and i find them very useful and they also inspire people to take action. I want other people who read this to also take action, like i am trying to do. It is true what a lot of people say: People read to much and don't take enough action!

The second reason i started this Thread is for the help and guidance of others. Like i said i value the opinion of others, who have more knowledge in IM as me, so i can learn from them. If there are people who want to talk, feel free to reply to this Thread or PM me!

This is all for today, if there is interest i will update this blog weekly or so.

Everyone who wants to contribute, please do!

Congratulations on deciding to take action and start building an affiliate website. You need to arm yourself with a lot of patience and dedication, because sites like these require consistency and hard work, and if done properly they can be very beneficial. Good luck with the Dutch affiliate network as well. It's always interesting to follow people who are getting into their native markets. You should definitely check out arganrecords' thread here in the IM journey section, since he is in a similar position (he's built an Amazon affiliate site in Spanish) and has great success (not able to post links yet myself). You will find a lot of valuable information there as well.

Contentwise, if you're writing the articles yourself, your best bet is to get very knowledgable about your niche, that way you will be able to provide much higher quality content.

Regarding backlinks, it is always a good idea, if you're building a non-English website, to get backlinks in the language the site's built in. Looks better in big G's eyes and relevancy is best. PBN links are some of the best ones, but it's a good idea to diversify your link profile - web 2.0 sites, parasites, blog comments, profile links on authoritative sites, social signals, bookmarks, etc. GSA SER is a powerful tool, but it's mostly used for bulding tier 2+ links.

Best of luck with your journey!

Hi Elwin, thank you for reading.

I've checked out Arganrecords' thread and like you said it contains a lot of useful content. Will definitely bookmark it.

As for backlinks, thanks for your advise. It does make a lot more sense now especially regarding GSA SER. I thought i had to choose one of this backlinks techniques. But it is best to deversify my back link profile. So starting now i am going to search for expired domains with .nl extension to create my own PBN. And i will also do some blog comments and forum posts. I hope this will affect my rankins, so i can post an update on this!

Quick update: so i have wrote a 1500 word article myself and added it to the website. Like i said in an earlier post, i think adding content should have my main focus. If the website is full of great new content, it will show results in Google rankings. To gain more content, i have searched for dutch writers. It is by far not as easy as searching for English content writers. Also it is more expensive than English content. So far i have found 2 Dutch content writers who write for a good amount of money. Though, pricey but i think it is worth it. One aks 1,3 Euro cents per word and the other 2 Euro cents per word. I have received one 1500 word article from one, and it looks good. I am curious about the article which the other guy wrote. This way i can compare articles with each other amd choose the best writer.

I have also contacted a few people about linkbuilding. I have gain more knowledge now and i am starting to create a network with people who do linkbuilding. So when i get to this part, i will know people who can create backlinks. But more on linkbuilding later on.

Thats all for now people, i hope my idea on creating more content and also pay for it will succeed. Thank you.

It is easy to make money or
It is hard to make money online

All depends on how much good work you put into your site. Work hard but stay on course, create a proper marketing plan, costing etc.

Hey guys, it is time for a quick update as it has been too long. I am not updating this as much as i first intended to, but none the less i work hard for my niche site.

Content: The content of the website contains a homepage with +- 7000 words, 10 product reviews +- 500 words and 4 articles with +- 1500 words. I have linked from the homepage to all the articles.

Backlinks: I have been buying backlinks for the last 3 weeks. This are 500 word articles with 2 in content links. After the first 2 articles were placed, i saw my ranks go up in Google for my main keywords. So i definitely worked out. Although, i still want to create my own PBN, i thought buying backlinks at first would bump my rankings a little. Also the guy i buy the backlinks from is very kind and offered to help me with a few things.

Rankings: So about the rankings. I am focused on 6 keywords. I am now 3 months into this project and i am ranking 2nd and third page for 5 of the 6 keywords. So i think this is pretty good, although i dont have a lot of traffic right now.

What am i gonna do now? So today i fully optimised my meta titles and descriptions with the use of Yoast. I am gonna buy some more 500 word articles with 2 in content links with different anchor texts. And i am going to try to build my own PBN to boost my ranks!

Congrats for the traffic increase man! It's just a matter of time until your website ranks on the first page. That's when you will see decent traffic :) Keep working hard and you will surely see results. I started a similar journey with a KW with the same monthy searches as yours. :) Hopefully we will both get results haha

Has been awhile since the last update, but i got some results i want to share with BHW members.

So i am like 3 months into my affiliate project and i am seeing some website visits everyday. Also i have 3 products sold, which is amazing! My first sale was an enormous boost for me! I am determined to succeed at this.

As for backlinks, i now have 7 x 500 articles on a public domain network. I am now researchinf on building my own PBN with expired domains or web 2.0s. Not sure yet how i am gonna do this, but i will figure it out.

The website now has 8 x 1500 pillar articles, and around 10 x 500 product reviews. I want to add more content in future.
