My Dog Took it's last few breaths in front of me

I'm sorry to hear that, losing someone you love (including your dog) means hard times. But think positive, now it is watching you from animals heaven.

I know it's difficult to say goodbye to a pet you held so dear.
I pray and hope that you find comfort & peace in the fond memories you made together.

Sorry bro. Be strong my man. I know how it feels. Went through the same thing a few years back. Got myself another one looking exactly the same, but it's not the one I lost and will NEVER be.

They become like family indeed, they ARE family.

I am sorry for you pain. Pets are like a best friend that never betrays you. They never argue. They always want to please you. To me they are not only family, but partners.

It's sad knowing that some people don't think of pets as part of the family. A few years ago I was driving behind a car that hit a dog and kept on going. A few other people and myself pulled right over and went to the dog in the middle of the road and just sat with him and petted him while he took his last breaths. The dog had a coppar on and i knew where the road on the collar was. One of the other people there got a blanket out of his trunk and we wrapped the dog in the blanket and put it in my trunk. I then drove to the owners house with the other guy following me in his car.

I'll never forget the look on the owner's face when we told her what happened. But she was so thankful that a couple of complete strangers would do all that we did for a dog.

Pets are as much a part of families as people are. I'm sorry for your loss. I hope you find some comfort in all the memories I'm sure you have with him.

Very nice story. very touching!

My little 10 month old lab mix is like my little daughter. I couldn't imagine seeing that.

I'm so sorry for your loss :(

RIP Scarlet.

Im so sorry for your loss, and in a liitle way im jelous. My chocloate labrador was 14 yrs old,(2008) she had some problems she had hip displacement, meaning she had no hip joints, and the last years we couldnt take her out. then occasionally she would have fits, which were really hard to take. But these things were not all the time, so in spells she was good. we had arranged a family holiday to spain in the summer, so we went on the holiday. we got my wifes parents to look afer our dog. when we got back, they told us bad news, to the effect that she was having more fits, and THEY decided to put our dog down. I was devastated. We actually met her parents at our house, and after her dad told us that he put our dog down, he said take a look in your back garden, I buried here there in the corner.
I never got the option to do anything with my Cheska

I feel your pain man! sometimes you must accept the truth that dogs lifespan is only 10-12 yrs. my pitbull died at the age of 10 (70 in dog yrs). It is weird that you cant control your tears when you see him dying.

Sorry to hear that man, I've been there and it is tough stuff. tntman

This is the most realistic feeling you ever get. It's like your little kid dying in front of you...

We came home to find her in the Street Still BARELY alive (Head ran over) And In the back I myself watched her breathe every 30 seconds for about 3 minutes until She took one Deep breath and gave way :( Had it been my other dog I would be cutting my wrists...

Here's to My BH Dog Scarlet The Black mouth Cur
I'll love you and miss you and may Your Soul Will be Peaceful

This... exact same shit happened to me... 4 years ago... =/....

Nice to see that many of us have great compassion for our dogs and cats......pets are special friends to many of us....

I remember one morning getting ready to go to school and my dog was struck and killed right in front of my brother and I....very sad and tough for grade-schoolers to deal with, we still went to school.

Funny, you never forget it, even after all of these years.

I had a kitty later that was my buddy for years, he developed severe diabetes and was suffering........my poor wife had to take him to the vet and then she and the kids held him for the last time. Everyone there was in tears, even the staff.

I have another kitty that is almost 17 years old. He doesn't have too many more years left.....still, he gets around and is very friendly (actually, people are surprised by how much my cats act like dogs....very friendly).

Pets love us unconditionally. Often, we don't really think about this.....be kind to your pets, they are special beings.

Sorry for your loss. It is tough. Hang in there and it will get better.
